Quarterback Sack question

The question I have is this, do you think slamming the QB to the ground should be a penalty like the targeting personal foul that is already being used in college football. I saw two games on Saturday, Baylor and WSU, where the QB was grabbed around the waste and slammed to the ground bouncing their head off the turf. In both cases the QB had to leave the game for a while. In the WSU case he left the game till the second half.

The D-linemen are not just sacking the QB in these cases, they are trying to bounce there heads off the ground and put them out of the game. How is that any different from head to head targeting fouls that are already in place.

Just wondering if I was the only one to see this and think of that. I wouldn't be a hard foul to call, it is quit obvious when it happens. Let me know what you think.

I don't really think you can prove that, if a defender throws the QB to the ground....he really has no influence over how he lands. Head to head contact is completely different, if a QB is standing completely stationary and a defender domes him, that is likely intentional. Getting thrown to the ground is part of being a QB.

I think linemen should do a better job blocking so the defense can't do that. Perhaps we could give the quarterback a pink tutu as well. When your third step hits, get rid of the ball.

The real problem is that it's not even a surprise to read horrible posts like this anymore.

It's called football if anything the QB is too protected and needs to be hit more often. If they want all the money and glory they should pay a bigger price.

The only thing that shocks me is that the OP didn't want a yellow or red card for bumping a QB. Maybe the QBs should do over animated flops like they do in the sport you should be watching you communist bastard.

God I hate this country

My girlfriend played QB and she never got slamed to the ground? I tried but she was to tough for me.

There is absolutely nothing surprising about this post.....including the spelling....

I remember the time Terry Bradshaw was thrown to the ground on his head when the Steelers were playing the Bengals a long while back. That called for a new rule. In the cases I was talking about the D-lineman picked up the QB to pile the QB into the ground.

When I played the game I was a linebacker and loved to put the hurt on the QB on a blitz. So I am not trying to give the QB and pink tutu. All three of the times I saw it happen it was obvious what the intention was. I was simply asking a question after making an observation.

And I am sorry my post doesn't live up to the higher standards of some people on this forum. But the fact of the matter is most people discount your posts as BS anyway. So criticize way, I could care less.

See, you understand how a message board works. When I read posts like yours I roll my eyes and wonder what grade you are in and what country you are from. Then I feel sad for you for a minute, then hope someone helps you find your binky.

All in all I really don't care or put much thought into posts like the OP.

It can be this easy having balance on here instead of the super la la land 98% of you currently live in.

WOW, talk about over reacting. I will be the first one to apologize for unneeded words.

I even went back and looked at the highlights and the sacks in question and I would have to retract my statement. There was nothing really intentional. I just saw the QB get dinged up and felt at first the sacks were a bit over board, but I was wrong.

So again, I apologize for the words I spoke in frustration.

I love you guys. Well, I appreciate most of you...... Okay, some of you are okay.
