Cant wait to get over to the South campus fields and watch this team get after it. Going to be an intense camp!! Damn!

We're still the GRIZ. Just reload, baby. We'll be fine guys.

Practices aren't at south campus this "fall" - they're in the riverbowl and the stadium.

McKinney is a typical good athlete, who played QB in high school because he was the best athlete on his team, but can not throw the ball well enough to make it as a college QB. We saw Washington, then Kemp, and now McKinney try, and all have failed. If you are pinning your hopes on this kid to lesad us to the promised land, you will be very disappointed!

Right on. Thanks for the heads up. Sure I'll see you there.

Do you think that we will see a two quarterback system (like we saw the previous two seasons before last) or a one QB aystem?

Yep... another Terrell Rennie.

Last year at this time we didn't have a proven QB (with the Vols first up), just had a lot of hope in JJ's ability. It appears this year is not much different...just a name change. I have a lot of trust in our coaching staff to bring out the best abilities that each have.

I think our current QB's (plus our new transfer) will be fine. You got to know they're looking forward to showing what they've got. Field is wide open if you ask me... :thumb:

To each QB, BRING IT. We're looking for it.
To all the other players, we need you all more than ever and darn glad to have you!

Go Griz!!!!!

Imagine that. A HS team where the best athlete played QB. What are the odds?

I voted for McKinney, but who emerges from fall camp will be the story. I do hope the coaches settle on one QB early on, instead of this back/forth we've seen before JJ emerged as the go-to guy. I'm sure other teams know the capabilities of our QBs and what type offense their D will be facing on a play, say, if Shay comes in for TM & vice versa. Of course, if the O is performing well w/ either QB vs. an opponent, then Griz coaches will want to continue that type of O. At any rate, it's best if the Griz coaches can settle on one O style & the QB to run it, rather than trial and error & rotating QBs. IOW, if the coaches are unsure of what they have, how can the fans be?

Split QB system will only work if both of the QBs in the rotation are given plays where they can run and throw. If Shay is the passing QB and then trots out there the defense will adjust, if Trent comes jogging out the the D will just stack the box. They'll have to make sure that if they go with a rotation Shay is running it some times and Trent is throwing it - otherwise we're just telegraphing our play call.

Kinda like when Hauck played Kyle Samson as a true freshman when all he did was to come in and run the option. I really didnt see what the point of that was because the defense knew what was coming like you were saying..

I voted for SSH. Big kid with a good arm and better mobility than you'd expect. Also seems to be well-liked by his teammates. It'll be fun to see how this shakes out in camp.

I am starting to think we may go with a no QB system.

Maybe let Dan Moore run the ol wing T... or the Wild Griz...
:D

That would be nice to settle on one QB coming out of fall but that is not going to happen. Get ready for the QB shuffle to see how they all react to live game situations and to see who has the hot hand. I think we will settle on a QB by mid season and whomever it is will be fine.

If Dan Moore becomes QB, I think we need to go to the double wing wedge offense with a moving pivot.
