QB's, we are over reacting.

Jes-s, are you guys really comparing TM/SSH to Cole Bergquist from a passing standpoint?? My gawd.

Dudes, right now the Griz are playing with 3rd-4th tier quarterbacks, at best. Shay is a nice kid, but would be a mediocre NAIA player. It’s the cards they’ve been dealt, and they are making the best of it.

You guys need to quit overanalyzing it and praying these kids will turn into something they won’t.

Cherry pick much?

Why no Akili Smith, Vince Young or Jawalrus Russell?

Eli, Payton and Steve Young were all accurate before you posted stats. You guys keep hoping our QBs get some accuracy and I will continue to chastise you for being stupid and wrong.

It seems like QB's are accurate or not accurate. Hasn 't Tebow worked his ass off on throwing mechanics and accuracy? Hasn't he worked with Elway and numerous others to improve? If anything he seems like he throws worse now than when he first came into the league. He seems like a nice guy but he can't hit the broadside of a barn with the football.

You said name one so I named some guys that improved accuracy. You can't measure accurate but you can measure year over year improvement. I didn't have to cherry pick I could go on and on about guys that improved from rookies. A lot of guys dont improve I agree. Even Smith went from 54% 200 att 1997 to 58% on 371 att 1998 yet another example of a guy improving his accuracy. I'd have to say he was an accurate passer in college.

But he can throw an 80 yard td bomb over the heads of the steeler defense :D

Raider: Alpha asked about QB's who improved accuracy. CB was brought up as one who did. This is not comparing TM with CB. Just saying TM can improve his accuracy with some hard work. Is that hard for you to understand?

Unfortuantely, one throw does not make a career. But it was a great pass. Personally I think the Jets should trade him to Jacksonville. He would probably get a chance to play QB and at the very least he would boost attendance.

Alpha and Raider are right. Sure a qb can show "improvement" but so can a politician. If you take one step up from the basement, are you still in the basement?

Look at all the great qbs in our league over the last two decades. Most of them were 2-3 year starters (or more). Rarely do you see a 1-2 year starter be a "great" qb. If you do, it usually means there was an injury or an even better qb ahead of them.

No, Alpha questioned whether a QB can even improve his accuracy...his point was a QB has has the "it" factor or he does not. I disagree. Yes, QBs can improve their accuracy, but will they is another story.

Not raggin' on you Rob... but I think we must have watched a different play. I remember a 15-yard crossing pattern in front of a safety, that beat the other safety's blitz and left nobody deep for the Steelers. But the rest of it (and being a Bleeding Green Jets fan) I agree with. He's become a circus sideshow for Gang Green.

Just because you complete 70% of your passes doesnt make you an accurate passer.

:thumb: I think it was a little over 15 yds but you're right. I just meant the play went for 80 yds.

Still one of his better looking passes.

So how do you all explain Tebow's 66.4% percentage completion in College? Is he accurate or isnt he accurate. All hindsight argument IMO. He was accurate now he isnt, system, Wide outs? It's just such a bad argument "someone is accurate or he isnt." 66.4 isnt accurate over 1000 throws.

Obviously a QB can improve his accuracy. Like any sport where a skill is honed ... accuracy and consistency with throwing the ball can be improved. Take golf as an example. There should be no doubt that a golfers accuracy and consistency driving the ball can be improved over time. The real question is how does it happen? Most of the time it takes more than a strong will and determination on the athletes part alone. It takes a good coach that understands the individual ... their swing flaws, etc. and then sets in motion a process to make the corrections (often small incremental changes over an extended time). A good QB coach can do this as well. It’s been done in the past so why not now?

Like a cry baby and young spoiled brat with a whine.....I want to see breastcheck throw the damn ball.

Harbaugh recruited and let him walk on at Stanford???????He must have some skill. Let us see it in this upcoming meaningless (ha ha) game with the weak kneed kitty kats.

Let us watch this young frosh throw the ball. Why not?

Morons still bitching about the qbs. Once again, the defense has lost the games. The offense is good enough to win games and the defense is bad enough to lose games.
