QB1, who is it?

Take a look on google about Eric Prather. Great story on a citizen, soldier and husband. 92 miles per hour fast ball in baseball. He could be a contender at 21 years of age.

I do wonder how much that break from playing will affect his skills.

Jimmy Wilson did alright after his "break."

I was watching the Navy game and the commentator noted that the quarterback in the spread offenses needs to be able to make split second decisions. He said that the mental aspect is as important as the physical aspect. We all probably won't be able to judge that during spring ball but I have every reason to believe that Mr. Stitt will have that ability.

Also, I saw that Bob Cole (prior UM offensive coordinator) is now the offensive coordinator at Northern Illinois.

The QB in any offense needs to be able to make split second decisions the spread offense is no different. That's a no brainer.

Can't make a prediction because I haven't seen them all play. However, for the forst time in awhile, I'm really excited about the depth and talent on the roster, and more importantly I think I think our o-line should be really good, especially if Schmaing comes back
...but since CD insists...Simis.

They're certainly working hard over their winter breaks

Should be a good competition between all involved!

I will throw my vote in for Pflug as well, because I would love to see a true freshmen QB in his first college game go agianst our D, even if he is highly talented. Plus the aformentioned first game is also on ESPN! Might be a little more pressure than you wanna throw at the kid. What other offers did Pflug have?...any FBS offers?

Eastern Washington offered Pflug. That school has done pretty well with their QBs...

Bo Levi Mitchell -

Walter Payton Award (2011)
Consensus First-Team FCS All-American (AFCA, AP, TSN, WCFF) (2011)
FCS National Championship Game Most Outstanding Player (2011)
Big Sky Conference Offensive Player of the Year (2011)
Grey Cup champion (2014)
Grey Cup Most Valuable Player (2014)

Vernon Adams -

2x Walter Payton Award Runner-Up (2013-14)
College Football Performance Awards FCS National Performer of the Year (2013)
First-Team FCS All-American (AP) (2014)
Second-Team FCS All-American (AP, TSN) (2013)

You're gonna need all the help you can get on 8/30.

Damn you boys are a little touchy/defensive! I wasn't even trying to talk smack, just pointing out some important facts is all. I will tell you who will need all the help they can get though......your Dline. We return our entire Oline except for one, plus we get back one of our two best Olineman from injury...LG Zack Johnson 6'4" 329lb road graider. Now take into account that we averaged over eight yards a carry and doubled you guys up on yardage this year against supposedly the best Dline in the BSC. Hell we might not even have to throw a pass to win this one! Just messing with you boys now, don't go calling me a douche again! In all seriousness though I expect our offense next year to be probably the best O we've had in the last four years, especially if Vraa takes the medical hardship and returns for another year. How many did you guys graduate on the Dline? I know Wags did for sure.

I make one statement, you come back with a Thesis on how great your team is going to be and WE'RE the ones that are touchy/defensive?

Again just putting facts out there, hell I even threw in a stat or two! Plus a joke or two, don't see how that could be construed as defensive, but whatever. I was responding to you plus a couple others that commented somewhat negatively to my first post, so I didn't mean it to be directed at only you. We will have a few holes to fill at both safeties and both outside LBers, but we do have some good young players coming up, but there will be a drop off on that side of the ball, its just a matter of how much of one. How bout the Griz D how many do you return? We will return six I believe on D.

Intuitive, I agree with what you said. BUT, as I mentioned before, Pflug will not be stepping into fall camp like the rest of the freshman. He will already have an entire semester of college life under his belt, he'll already have winter condo under his belt, he'll have 7-on-7 and summer workout program done. and most importantly, he will have gone through a spring ball playing QB for the Grizzlies. To me, all of that makes him much more like Red-shirt freshman, not a true freshman. I'm not saying he'll win the starting quarterback battle. I have no clue on that. But also consider this, when fall camp arrives, he will have EXACTLY the same amount of experience in Stitt's offense that Simis will. One winter, one spring, one summer.

Havgrizfan, I agree that Pflug being at UM this winter and spring is a HUGE benefit for him and the team. That is a major game changer for the better, in both instances, wether he is the starter or the backup.

For sure! Outside of TB #91 (RIP), I've never really had a guy on the team for whom I root more than the others. I think Pflug might be the guy.
