QB Depth?????

So anyone that attends practices, scrimmages, etc., what do you think our QB Depth is? How are the young QB's looking? I'm assuming Sneed 1, Humphrey 2? Hows is look after that for Graves, Wilson, Hennessy, Harris?

Who knows.

But when you lay your head on the pillow tonight, thank goodness for the fact that if anything happens to any of them, they’ll be enough actual QB’s competing there that it’s not likely a receiver will be needed to come in & play the position. Don’t forget, we got our mulligan - can’t expect the opposite sidelines starting QB to be a bone head again.

Also, how many times has a team had to rely on their 4th string qb?

I’m guessing Sneed will get the start based on his command of the offense and being in the system longer. He has a stronger arm than I thought and he can definitely run. The crazy thing is Humphrey is very similar and can even spin the long ball better for sure. Sounds like he is a little more accurate too. So if Dalton doesn’t come out on his A game I think Cam is waiting in the wings and will get put into action in a hurry.

Sounds like Wilson has progressed a great deal and will probably be the third guy. Graves is such an athlete and is already put together doesn’t look like a freshman at all. I heard he blew Sandry up in Oklahoma drill it makes me wonder if he will get moved to the defensive side of the ball sooner than later. I think that is actually where he will excel greatly. Remember the video of him knocking over a tree with his shoulder? I think this guy should be on the defensive side

Based upon the small amount of news from Hauck and not from practice or observations that the depth will be:
1-Sneed
2-Humphrey
3-Wilson
4-Harris
Redshirt:
-Hennessey
-Graves

This is consistent with what I've heard as well and additionally that Wilson has had a very good camp and has made a push.

It would seem Sneed is the guy that'll start out the gate but I'm not totally ruling out Humphrey just yet to maybe get some looks and reps, and as the season goes on continue to push.

QB play has been steady, but not flashy. Last fall we saw Reese Phillips run away with the job, this year I've not seen as much separation between these two guys as we did last year, but I don't know if that really means much.

Wilson is maybe the most improved of all the QBs from spring to fall. He shows good stuff in flashes and who knows in another two years he could be a bit of a dark horse guy to win the job.

I know people are dogging Graves a bit bc he looks and plays like he should be a safety or linebacker but if that dude can keep working on his accuracy and reads I think he's going to be a badass QB in a few years.

Wilson will be starting at some point in the future...... perhaps even this season.

Hmm... not sure on that Steve, I know you really like him though.

Wilson has impressed me with how much he's improved. At this point last year I just thought he was the "camp body" at QB and Dick was probably the future, but then Dick departs. Wilson didn't show much in the spring but really came along this fall.

Not that it's ideal to have your 3rd string guy out there but Wilson is as best of a 3rd option as we've had at that spot in a while.

Graves is fast. Harris threw some nice balls today, including a 40 yarder just overthrow, which was thrown effortlessly. My guess is that he really does have a strong arm. He didn't see the play book until he arrived on campus at the start of pre-season practice. I suspect that someone who was apparently the 3d qb suited up for Alabama last season, will find his way up the depth chart sooner than later at UM.

The Griz are lucky to have a high level two-time All State Arizona QB leading the charge.

QB depth is great at UM.

Even Wilson threw a beautiful touchdown pass in the spring game. And Hauck said this fall that Wilson improved the most since then.

Don't muddy the water with the all-knowing "analysts" on this board. Just read and become educated, for their knowledge is infinite.

Sneed more than likely start but I wouldn’t be surprised to see a few others on the field as well. Keep the compition alive. We are extremely talented at QB this year.
