MBBALL PSU Game Thread!

Remember when the sky was falling because Travis fell to a measly 17-6 against the Cats and 7-4 in Bozeangeles? Travis immediately adjusted; inserting Grant Kepley into the starting lineup and increasing the usage of Trae Taylor to clean up the defensive glass when Sawyer goes to the bench. And here we are, firmly back in the title race. Again.

The Big Sky title race is wide open now! We get both the cats and PSU at home in the back half of the schedule! And most importantly, the boys notched themselves another Q2 win tonight! That’s two on the year now! Viks-cats on Saturday now. If the cats and Griz both win then we’ll have a 3 way tie for first place! Things are about to get interesting!

Great win, but the Griz scored 1 point in the final 1:48. Missed multiple freethrows in crunch time. It seems to be a consistent theme with the grizzlies, they put on the brakes to preserve a lead and then cannot turn it back on. This time they hung on for the win, which is great, but they're going to lose games down the road if they can't learn to finish games.

Not going to harp on the refs too bad given the win but what changed at half? First half was a very clear effort to let the teams play. Second half it seemed like they were seeing how many guys they could foul out. Did they remember this was a Big Sky conference game?
Typical!

That was an ify and ugly win for the Griz. Coupled with the Cats lose and the PSU standing it appears to be heading to a tough battle in the 2nd half of the year for the BSC championship. The Griz need to close out games in the finals minutes, put opponents in a cage and not let them out.

We would've been fine if Money didn't foul out with 2:30 to go. Instead we had to rely on Kepley who going into the night was a very strong free throw shooter, but just struggled immensely last night.

In case you missed it in the box score ... in 40 min of clock time, the refs managed to call 41 fouls between the two teams. Think about that: more than one every minute
