Ok. 4 years ago. I did say "like 5".5 years ago hmmm??? That's interesting because the M store wasn't sold until 2021.
Edited to add: Scheels' corporate HQ is based in Fargo, ND. They are huge boosters of the NDSU Bison. The money that is sucked out of Missoula, Great Falls, and Billings to Fargo is used to support the Bison's athletic facility upgrades and NIL.

And they may do all that but they pay a ton of money to the um athletic department for advertising.

I am an avid supporter of Scheels based on their values and being an employee-owned company. As a former sports retail manager in Missoula (Gart Sports) I can say in my opinion they have hit the nail on the head with how they built their company and frankly how corporate America should operate.

I feel good about the company. They have good stuff and good service and have very successful. And I dated a Scheel's founder's daughter from Billings after my senior year of high school and as I went to college. She was a cheerleader for the Cats.
Not totally sure what MN is referring too, but scheels treats their employees very well.

Jeez, how old are you? I know Steve pretty well he's in his late 70's and is the grandson of the founder Fred or Frederick.

I didn’t realize Scheels is an ESOP. So, regardless of whether it donated to NDSU, I will continue to spend there for the same reason I shop at Rosauers and Winco.

I personally don't have time to look into all these things before deciding what to buy. They best product will get bought by me whether it's at the M Store, Bookstore, UpTop or Scheels.
FWIW, Branded Bills, a company based out of Tempe, AZ is making some Griz hats now. They are absolutely awesome quality, and their "Elite Series" is similar to a Melin hat if you are familiar with those. They have some limited branding rights it looks like, but their hats are top notch.
