Once again I wish the Russian lad well. As evidenced this season when Lil' Shooter went down, Oregon has great need for a QB.

That said I just don't see the Russian having what it takes to succeed with the ducks. Where I foresaw Vernon doing well if he saw the field, Dakota just doesn't have the same abilities in the passing game. None the less, wish you well comrade and hope you prove me wrong. Success there would send a strong message as to how many quality athletes are being overlooked in the FCS ranks. We do have players who can play with anyone.

I have to admit, I did not think VA had the skills to play at the FBS level in the Oregon offense. The kid proved me wrong. He blew up TCU until he was hurt. (Although, I felt his WRs made him look better than he is, just like at EWU.)
If "The Russian Lad" can make good then I will be even more surprised. There is no doubt (thank you Jerry Rice) we have FCS players that can play with anyone but.........damn......the speed of the Oregon and TCU skill players was astonishing.

I expected Vernon to do well. What surprised me about him was that he got the starting job so soon. His Math Fiasco prevented him from joining the team until a few weeks before the season began. I thought that might keep him on the bench initially. Though he was clearly the best man for the job there.

On the other hand, Comrade Prukop will have an advantage of playing spring and fall ball before the season kicks in. If Lockie is the best they otherwise had, Dakota may just have a chance to play. Though I will be shocked if he excels there with his tendency to overthrow.

daGrizJ, you are right about the overall speed differential in FBS. That will probably be an eye opener for Dakota. It helps with his new set of receivers but will kill him with the Db's closing speed. He will also have to fight his inclination to break and run at the first sign of pressure. The defensive rush in the Pac 12 will be on him before he knows what hit him and he may get a case of permanent happy feet as a result.

Again, Dakota prove me wrong you commie bstrd. I dare you! :ugeek:

VA is way more accurate than fruitcup. He throws a way better deep ball also. The only thing I can think of that fruitcup does better is run with the ball.
