Prukop?

I should not have read that...that boy thinks he's a lot better than he is. Marriotta made it to the nfl coming from oregon, so he should be able to do it as well...

No nfl team is going to take a chance on that arm. Inaccurate and throws a lob, can't fit it into tight enough spaces to play in the nfl. That's just mind blowing....

Are you insane?! This is a man who went 10-10 as a starter in a division lower than FBS! He's leaving a legacy everywhere he goes.

It's interesting that when confronted with a choice between Oregon and Alabama, he chose the weaker team.

Nope, a better chance that Cramsey is a coach there.

I thought so too at one point but you would think there would be a little more buzz at this point if that was the case. Did I miss something? Also, if Tim ends up on the (O) staff wouldn't you think Prukop has a little better chance of seeing the field there?

Yes, I would. But, I think there was ZERO chance that Cramsey would even get a glance at Alabama, so Oregon is the next best option for Cramsey should he get in the door. Not sure he will though like you said.

Zero at Alabama, not sure Oregon is the next best option for him. He might think so but I don't think they share the same love. Plenty of other schools that will welcome him with open arms. Not saying Oregon is out, he has more immediate and definite options to make his mortgage payment.

Yes, I agree. I don't think he is going to end up in Oregon, though I think he thought he would. When the dust settles, he will go where he can get the work. Likely another FCS school, but we shall see.

“I think my legacy is combined with Coach Cramsey and it’s that we went in and we changed the offense,” Prukop said. “We changed offense in the Big Sky. We brought the Oregon-type offense to the Big Sky, the Oregon-type firepower and feel to the FCS. I think that’s something that is important. The revolution of offensive football, we brought the Oregon feel for things to the FCS level at Montana State. Montana State had been predominately in the past a defensive program and that shifted when we were there. It was a great experience, something I will never forget and it built me into the player I am today.”

Holy Sh  t...

I guess that 2011 semifinal run didn't do anything to bring exciting offense to the Big Sky...and has the kid seen EWU the last five years? You know, with a national title mixed in? He was perfect for the Cats, the best because we say so, facts be damned.

After he changes Oregon, the Pac-12 and FBS, hopefully he can revolutionize the NFL. Can't take Texas out of the boy, it looks like.

I think Prukop is a good kid, his press conferences over the years have indicated he knows what to say, knows how to protect his teammates.

The more I read his comments since his decision to leave, that image is fading for me a bit. Some of his comments have rubbed me the wrong way for sure. Could be a classic case of kid got too big for his britches.

If God would have intended Texans to ski, he would have made bulls**t white.

You can't make this shit up. My God!!

10-10 (a perfect "Ron .500") against DI competition, and he's leaving a "legacy." Pretty amazing stuff.
The departure is bittersweet after teaching us all about the zone read and such!

Yes, DakkyFB and Cramsie sure revolutionized the offense in college FB in the FCS in the BSC in South Central Montana, for a few weeks, until it they faced a decent defense. Legacy.
The best football offense in Gallatin County.

Perhaps.

I think his P-cup runneth over.

I have always loved that one. Heard it many years ago while skiing with a bunch of Texans in Colorado.

He was the offense at State. But from what I saw, he made one read and tucked it if the throw wasn't there. As the season went on, the better teams in the Big Sky put a spy on him and lessened his effectiveness as a runner. He gets the FCS first team as quarterback? Wasn't even the best QB in the Big Sky.

This leads me to a couple of predictions: First, he will struggle mightily against better opponents. After all, getting hit by a kid from USC is a bit different than running circles around Fort Lewis.
Second, the Cat cupboard is empty on both sides of the ball: o-line, quarterback, nearly the whole damn defense. There may be some transfers and some improvement with experience, but .500 ball will be a reach, even with the typical, early season cupcakes.

Better chance of seeing the field?

Better chance that Alabama didn't actually offer after the face to face.

That points to a question I have had from the start of this whole ego trip for him. Has anyone actually seen anything that officially said both Oregon and Alabama were truly interested in and offered him, or was it just an imagined case of his horribly over inflated sense of worth?

From Alabama.com

"Saban and Kiffin attempted to sell Prukop on playing for a program with the history of Alabama's and on being able to add a dual-threat quarterback dynamic to the Tide's offense.

Saban and Kiffin made a final pitch over the phone Monday before Prukop decided on Oregon, which was his early top choice.

"It was tough because there wasn't one wrong answer," Prukop said. "There's two really good decisions, two really good schools to choose from. And it was more so what's best for me, where I'm going to be happy, and that's what it came down to.""
