Does anybody have an old program or roster or anything from 1956? My Grandpa played for the Griz in 1956, he only played 1 year due to blowing out his knees, he was on the Freshman team back then. He came from Lewis and Clark High school in Spokane.

Contact Rod McKenzie, a lawyer in Sacramento. He played on the 1964-68 teams (running back) - he played under the name Rod Lung. He has a wonderful collection of Griz programs that came from the old Alumni Association office that used to be next to the Lodge.

I am sure that Rod would Xerox a copy of a 1956 program for you. He might even have an extra. Rod has always been a great fan and supporter of UM. He usually makes it up to several games a year.

Rod Long.

It's Lung, not Long, you dumbass! "Iron Rod" Lung, they called him. Went to work for American Tobacco after the war.
Hahaha!! I know that but if you're choosing a new last name? Rod was a big SCTV fan.

That's what I was thinking. Seems like you're over-thinking it too when considering 5th grader humor. I can see his point...
