Pro Day 2025

Jack sent me these, he doesn't do imgur uploads. The top one should include the date and location stamp, at the bottom you can see it was his camera roll, and not just an individual photo that was sent to him.

Captions he sent --

"May 17th, 2:40 PM, I am with Bob Malakar '70 on Main Street in Hanover. Hanover Inn, where I stayed, is in the background."

"I took these photos at the Memorial. Roger Goodell and Archie Manning were of multiple speakers"

"3 former players at Honover Inn Bar, including Jay Fielder and Reggie Williams. I took this and many other photos." (These are ones you can see on his camera roll at the bottom of the top pic)

"Me with my brother and nephew on Main St in Hanover." That one is the duplicate of the one tagged with time and location at the top.

These were just the texts. The emails have my flight receipt, Hanover Inn hotel receipt, and credit card receipt for bus ticket from Boston to Hanover.

It was a great weekend. Saw and hung with lots of friends. The Hanover Inn hotel is very nice, right across corner from campus/Green, and has a great bar where everyone hangs out. Most of the NFL and former NFL players were there, except Nick Lowery. A huge number of Teevens' friends from that era, a huge number of guys who has played for Teevens, including my nephew '08. I was able to talk to Buddy's wife and daughter multiple times. Our family knows them well. The documentary on Buddy's life is good. I think you can watch it with ESPN+. My teammate conceived of it, co-produced it with Peyton Manning whose company did it, and paid for it. My friend took Archie Manning back to New Orleans, as my buddy had his Challenger 300. "Bowden was a team captain and earned First Team All-America honors during his senior season in 1970. His other accolades included the Sport Magazine Athlete of the Month Award and the Alfred E. Watson Trophy, which is awarded each year to the outstanding athlete at Dartmouth College. Bowden was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2003.

"You learn leadership qualities in football," Bowden said. "People are looking for somebody to say, 'Let's go take this mountain.' It is a little bit inspiration, a little bit intellectualism and a lot of brute force. I just think it's a great sport. It's a very difficult sport, but it's played a big role in my development from growing up on a ranch in West Texas all the way to the Ivy League. It helped me get there."

Lol, my bad, I hadn't checked my email. Those make it even more clear. Uploaded below.

Good thing for Hornet he didn't bet money, as well!

If I were more religious, I would try a prayer tonight to see if Buddy could speak to Hornet while he's sleeping.

Elrod, I hate to do this to you, but I'm arranging for 250 of my friends to contact you to confirm I was there. This includes Archie Manning, whom I introduced myself to after he spoke. Ha, just kidding.

If you manage to have Archie Manning reach out to me, I will forgive the other 249 people, haha.

Jack I owe you an apology…it appears you were there. To my defense it’s been a long time since I’ve seen you and you are unrecognizably fat. Hell, I was looking for you and might have walked right by you.
But, I deal is a deal and this will be my last post.

Do you change his Depends, too?
The generic diapers work just as well, and they got little animals on them...so I'm told. On the subject of this thread, it would be nice to see a Griz or two get drafted, but alas, there'll probably only be some free agent contracts and camp invites.

I think now that we are past the Covid glut the chances will start to get a bit better at UDFA opportunities hopefully and the occasional draftee. Think how Covid has affected things going back as far as Dante and his camp experience.

It is wild to realize how many careers were changed with that trajectory. Starting with how many high school seniors lost their season. Hundreds of kids lost out on scholarships by not being able to get on film in their senior year. To remember back as far as it effecting Olsen's chances is a really striking way of looking at that.
