Private Money Rumor,

Last night I was at a downtown restaurant with a few local businessmen and the talk was about a meeting Monday night that was attended by a group of "big donor" Griz fans and by UM officials. The rumor is that they raised $100,000 Coach K and his assistance.

That is all the info I have, and I admit it is 100% rumor and I can not confirm any part of it. That's why it's called a rumor. :naughty:
 
Let us know where to send our checks. We need to hang on to LK for as long as we can. Yes it flattering to have other schools hire our coaches but lets not give up without a fight

It is not a rumor. I know two of the people who each wrote $25,000 checks on the spot. It is being done through roundball Club so the money doesn't end up in UM coffers and control.
 
why is this so secretive? why not enlist the support of the many other members of this board who'd be willing to kick in?

I wouldn't say that, anyone can join roundball club. If anyone wants info on that pm me
 
GrizBacker I talked to one of those $25000 check writers and he mentioned that there is already a deal in place to extend coaches contracts to two years and will take effect in 2007.

Can you confirm?

I know some things are in the works, but I don't think anything is a done deal yet. I expect something in maybe a week or less. These things can change in an instant so until an announcement is officially made, I know about as much as you. I am not one of the decision makers. :thumb:
 
Guru are saying that some of the current coaches will be extended or that only coaches of certain sports will be extended??

For example are they extending Coach K and not BH or are you saying that they will have the ability to extend football coaches and not golf coaches??

Just wondering what you know. :thumb:
