Prevent Defense

The Griz fielded the best team on Saturday. The game was won by holding off UW at the end by not playing prevent. I absolutely love that. It is so tiring watching great teams play a super game only to watch them beat themselves with prevent defense. All hail to our great coaching staff! :clap:

I don’t think he’s being truthful though. They pretty much ran a run blitz every run play. Also, they played off more on the first drive and I think they realized UW wouldn’t through it down the field. Morris was locking on his target and getting rid of it fast so there wasn’t a threat over the top.

Didn't realize how much they brought pressure until watching that replay that was posted. Even when UW picked it up Morris couldn't hurt them over the top so they kept it coming. Never really popped any quick hitters in the run game. They really had a great plan and executed.
