You cannot be serious.

You played poly, noco, nau and isu, the bottom four teams in the conference. You got the only difficult teams you played at home: davis, weber, GRIZ. You were DAAAAMMMNMN lucky to beat weber and ewooo. You completely avoided sac and idaho. That's the DEFINITION of easy/soft schedule. poop, no wonder you had a decent record.

Gris avoided UCD, likely saving their playoff hopes. You also lost to literally any decent team last year. We also smoked the dUMb. Like I mentioned: The big issue for schedule making is you get to play us (#1 in BSC). We had to play the gris (#6 BSC). So yeah maybe you guys had it a little more rough because we were on the schedule.

Sagarin ranked MSU: 152 SOS vs gris 157…. Did you play a team inside the top 160 the first 5 weeks of the season?

Massey SOS: MSU(7) UM (17)

Back Oregon St, who crushed the Cats, out if SOS and the Griz will be above the Cats. The Griz lost to 4 of the top 9 playoff teams.

Wait? So we just ignore Oregon state and they don’t count towards SOS? Should we take ourselves off your SOS? We crushed you guys last year?

Good lord. You must be as hammered as msdUi’s staff.

Classic, I present a SOS statistic and you deflect to insults. Keep scraping that barrel.

If you go by Sagarin rating, the average rating of the FCS teams you played last year (not counting us) was 184. Our average rating (not counting your team) was 167, despite having an extra FCS game against an incredibly weak OOC team.

For conference games only, yours was 170, while ours was 157.

Objectively speaking, you're full of shit.

Yup, you're right Lets cut out Oregon State because they don't fit the gris narrative. Classic. SOS means: only count the teams the rival school wants to in order to make a point. its hard fighting stupid this often.

Frankly, this is like finding the tallest little person, neither schedule was particularly "hard" but acting like the gris' was way more difficult, is just weird.

The only reason the Cat SOS is where it is, is because you played Oregon St. If you add Oregon St to the Griz schedule, the Griz have a higher SOS. Do you really not understand that?

Did you say 2-9 Indiana state or 4-7 NW state? You find SDSU on a map yet?

well.... that makes sense... that would be what I call: SOS. I suppose you should schedule better teams if you want a higher SOS.

Yeah, I errored in giving you the benefit of the doubt that you were drunk, when in fact you’re just dumb as fuck.

My bad.

You played a game that didn't matter against the #12 team in Sagarin. That's the only reason your SOS looked even remotely challenging. It's pretty common in stats to get rid of outliers that skew the averages. Looking FCS only seems like a fair compromise when we didn't play a FBS team last year. This is elementary stuff, kid. You might learn about it in a math class you haven't taken yet.

I even removed our teams from the other's schedule to really keep it fair. ;)

Going further, the average Sagarin of the FCS teams you played on the road was 195, and 174 at home.

Ours was 147 on the road and 181 at home.

I’m trying to piece this together… I thought every team you played counted towards your SOS. But Egris logic is trying to say otherwise… Another common term in stats is “confirmation bias”. It appears you’re trying to justify having a lower SOS. We also played ORST on the road, and you threw them out because… confirmation bias. Objectively, the Cats had a better SOS. Im sorry you can’t come to terms with that.

I’m really confused with the infatuation this page has with manipulating stats to make points.

“If you didn’t play ORST we’d have a higher SOS”

“If you only use FCS teams”

“ORST doesn’t count cuz you lost”

“We throw out outliers”

It's okay, man.

Stats is a hard subject. You might get it some day. :thumb:

Hey! Enjoy another 6th place season! But according to you, you’ll finish 5th. Since the cats in first will be an outlier :)! That’s a plus!

I actually think you’re on to something. You should present your logic to Massey and sagarin. They’d like to know we don’t count every team you play towards SOS.

I assume Morehead St wasn't in the SOS that you provided earlier. So much for your "every game" comment.
