Prater/Lucas

Would be great to see more of Lucas.

Is it possible stitt is working on "adapting" the offense to the talent, or giving the last four teams on the schedule something to think about?
I think it was just to ensure Simis didn't get a garbage-time injury. I doubt we'll see this again unless we are put in another garbage time situation again....which I hope we are.

It very well could be that they originally planned to only use Lucas as a WR, but thanks to the QB situation they had to get a third option going, and then he just outperformed Prater in practice.

All equally viable.

Reading more into the interviews and what Stitt said, I actually am not sure the "lets throw the senior a bone" theory is accurate.

ANOTHER possibility is that Stitt didn't want the only other guy he trusts chucking it around in his offense (Prater) getting hurt in garbage time.

The mind boggles.
Coach Stitt could, you know, just communicate. His odd secretiveness generates these rampages of speculation. I can't think of any positive result. Generating a fan base of suspicious or baffled fans doesn't seem like a "road to public relations success."

The real questions are: 1. Does Stitt own us any explanations for what he does with his second and third string QB's in garbage time? 2. Why do people care?

These are the type of controversies every team dreams about.

Lucas is a physical specimen. Wonder how he'd do at RB? He's bigger than any of the other guys we've got, especially now that Counts is apparently down for the count again.

I could not find any evidence that he appeared in any Penn St. game. Has grown since 2012....

Listed on the roster of De Anza CC in 2013:

Lucas, Tyler 9 6'3 200 QB SO Bellefonte State College PA

Looks a natural as a Wildcat back for short yardage situations. I'd like to see more of him; very athletic.

It could be possible that Stitt threw Lucas in there for mop-up duty because he didn't want to risk an injury on Prater should he need to be called upon if Simis goes down.

Prater looked pretty damn happy on his leaping chest bump to Lucas after the game.

I would imagine Prater has a different perspective on life than most of his teammates...

Very athletic, and threw a nice pass when required.

Am I the only one who saw Gerald Kemp II out there?

THe VERY first person I thought of when I saw him behind center.

Same here - sure would like to see him play more, wait, that sounds familiar as well......

Call me suspicious but after that exhibition Sat, the possibilities of him on the field opens up a lot of possibilities. I imagine him trotting out at anytime will make an opposing DC sit up and take notice ("what the Stitt is happening now????") Could we be adding an Hback to the receiver mix?..........................

Maybe the coach wanted to give PSU coaches something more to think about and plan for.
