Potential (Good) Junior Bergen News

Junior is saying let's run it back, hence stating he plans to return.

So did Clif. Until he didn't. I'm not really that obtuse, but I do hesitate to take social media statements as proof of much of anything. And the reality is that he could always leave later. Nothing is forever anymore. We'll still lose some guys after spring ball. I fear I am becoming extremely jaded. Sigh.

PS I love Junior. I hope he doesn't go anywhere. But I dislike what the portal and NIL have come to. I think it's detrimental to the concept of team.

Agreed Mom.

I’m I gay or have the Griz not benefited from the portal in the past? Seems like they’ve come out quite well.

Why does anybody think Junior is leaving? Just because some dumbass posted it?

Correct...A lie repeated often enough....
The NIL / Transfer Portal market for star FCS players is not nearly as big as some of you think. Power 5 schools are not actively trying to land FCS players

Well except when it's Nebraska stealing our punter.

Junior should be a shining star example to loyalty to a program. It’s almost unbelievable at this point. I can guarantee he was getting $300,000 offers from very large programs after what he displayed on ESPN back to back weeks. Love this dude!

Tell that to Incarnate Word.

People keep saying this, but established FBS starters at bigger universities rarely see that much (as of right now), unless they’re truly top 20-30 WRs in the nation.

Like the $400k rumor from Colorado would have put him near the top 5-7 NIL deals on the entire team.

I don’t doubt for a second he received some enticing offers from other schools, but I’m skeptical of these six-figure numbers that have been thrown around. No one is going to throw $400k at a return specialist.

But honestly, if he did indeed turn down $300k+ from another school, I think he’s insane.

I said as much in another thread a while back. Bergen is good, but he’s not a 5 star athlete or established stud QB or anything like that, which are the ones really garnering big paydays. People seem to think every stud receiver and returner and running back etc….are getting huge paydays, but while there’s a lot of money to be had out there, the $300-$400k paydays aren’t the norm

Certainly both things can be true, however. Likely Junior didn't receive mega dollar offers, but Hooked's point is still valid:
