Pains me to say it, but surely Alpha had atleast one quote that would be in the running. He posts probably as much as anyone on the board. Oh - forgot that he is a actually Jake Weezy and was already
mentioned as being worthy of reading.

I've also heard through inside sources that Alpha is JakeWeezy too.

Those duplicate accounts should be enough to get that freakin' ape banned.

So, serious question: anybody else feel the way Wolfman Jack does and have the deep-fried balls to say it? Personally, I don't care either way but I wonder how many decent guys come to this site to discuss football and are ashamed to say they post on here because of the reputation that Alpha has created for "eGrizzers". Specifically, the things I hear are that people who post in here are "sexist, violent, racist, homophobic, woman-haters" etc. The thing is, 99% of you are not. Some eGriz posts by Alpha and his other screen names are used in anti-violence and anti-hate seminars locally to demonstrate the ignorance and ugliness that people say that fuels division in our community.

Personally, I give the guy as a person the benefit of the doubt that his screen names are just a nasty character he plays and that he doesn't understand the ramifications of his words. Like the 7th grade bully who later grows up to regret being such a d*ck. He can be witty and knows a lot about Grizzly Football and is clearly a true fan. However, I do know many fans who avoid this forum because of the juvenile, hateful, mean posts. Also, many who have PM'd me (don't worry, won't out anyone) to apologize for him or express disgust but won't say it publicly.

Just a question. Maybe most everyone enjoys that about eGriz.

Yes, I know it is an act. I get that. If I didn't want to read it, I wouldn't be on eGriz. I don't give a shit about fueling the fire. I am a true fan. I love Grizzly football, I can take a joke and make a joke. I don't dislike Alpha and I get that his "act" adds spice to the forum - it's just unfortunate how often it crosses the line into mean and hateful speech. Just seeking opinions.

It's not the people who post on here that are having the discussions. There is division in the community about the integrity of the Athletic Dept, athletes and fans. Many believe that athletes get away with crimes or bad behavior because they can play well. Coming to a fan site and seeing language that supports violence against women, etc (and other posters laughing or applauding it) solidifies those stereotypes.

Yeah, occasionally that stuff gets posted on the site, as well as racism and other inappropriate drivel.

However, if "people in the community" want to paint every Griz sports fan with an overly broad brush just because some idiot posts something offensive on a fan site, there's not much you can do about that. Remember the old Reinhold Niebuhr prayer:

And the wisdom to know the difference.

I refuse to "own" stupid things posted on the site, just as I wouldn't expect others to own the stupid (although hopefully not hateful or offensive) things I post.

You can't expect volunteer mods to catch every transgression, and overall, they do a pretty good job. So my advice? Just ignore stuff, especially stuff that's only intended by the poster to aggravate you.
