Post Game: The Grizzlies fall short

The severe shade on BH is unjustified.

Yes, Ah Yat had a good game and we love him. Unfortunately, he wasn't the best QB on the field yesterday. Lamson was uncontrollable in spite of 4 Griz sacks.
Shade or objective but uncomfortable facts? Bobby has publicly stated goals. He's not reaching those goals. He knows it. We know it. What difference does it make? He isn't going anywhere unless he decides to.

I’ll toss out a few thoughts from my side. First off, I snagged some last-minute tickets and made the haul over to Missoula. Totally worth it…great tailgates, great beer, and way too many familiar faces trying to convert me to maroon.

And man… Washington–Grizzly was rocking. That place is loud enough to rattle your fillings. Easily one of the toughest spots to play, especially when the stakes are so high.

Ah Yat? Certified BALLER. I knew he was good, but he showed up like he was auditioning for the cover of NCAA Football 2026.

Defensively, both teams played it super safe. Almost felt like they made a gentleman’s agreement: “You can have the short stuff—but nobody gets behind us.”

There were moments where the Bobcats looked like the better squad, and moments where the Griz looked like they were running the show. Just a beautifully chaotic, uneven, rivalry-energy game.

And seriously, thanks for the hospitality. The huge majority of Griz fans were awesome. There were a very small handful who were… let’s call it “extra passionate.” My son definitely got baptized into the rivalry fire in hostile territory.

I havent been to a game in missoula since 2018….do they still play cotton eyed joe or has that been played out?

Again…thanks for the fun time. Good luck in the playoffs and hope to see some of you filthy animals in bozeman in a few weeks.

Well said!

All I really know is that we are damn fortunate to have MW. Forget the returns, runs and catches, his reaction to recover his return fumble showed what an athlete he is. Watched the replay and amazed with the lynx-like reaction to get on the ball several yards behind him. Griz then go on a nine minute march. Without the recovery, it would have been GSM.

Great write up. Frustrated about the loss but more frustrated by the trend of losing to them so often with Missoula kids on the wrong side of the divide.

don’t see your frustration with “Missoula” kids. Jones is a good RB but we have talented ones to. Zach blocked a kick. Good for him. Yet he is not on the Griz because of his own stupidity not due to Bozeman recruiting prowess. Everyone knew he is an athlete but he unintentionally closed the door on any chance of becoming a Griz.

Several Bozeman kids end up as Grizzlies. Seems like Coyle was an exceptional get from Bozo. It goes both ways and some guys just don’t want to attend school in the town they grew up in. Sometimes they’re not recruited because coaches aren’t looking for that position. Wish every Montana athlete wanted to play for the Griz. Many do, not all can.

That is kind of Bozeman in general isn't it. All the new "Montana" natives.
I don't even recognize Bozeman any more, starting to look like Missoula.

I love our Montana kids, but once they put on the uniform they are all Montana State Bobcats, and if a kid like Lamson puts on a performance like that in Missoula, he is forever part of Cat/Griz lore. It was a hell of a game and I actually want to see the rematch happen.

Much like Lulay

Don’t drag Missoula into your cesspool of shit scum from New York and California that is the Gallatin Valley now. It’s absolutely unrecognizable over there now.
