Post game: Stop me if you've heard this before

No doubt the defense was good today, and they were clearly gassed in the 4th quarter (wonder why), but I am a little bit concerned. All 3 of Webers TD’s today came on the first play right after a timeout. Sac State also got one last week right after a timeout. Not sure what’s going on there but that needs to get resolved. Granted the defense was not the issue today but this is alarming.

We’ve made Kris Brown the scapegoat here and perhaps justify so. But the blame goes further. And while on the subject of Kris Brown the coaching staff needs to treat him right. Kris needs to enter the transfer portal. He could probably be a good QB in the Frontier Conference. He has two of the three qualities that make his potential better suited for that level.
We’ve touted the fact that we have one of if not the most tenured and talented coaching staffs in FCS football. So where lies the problem? I was under the impression at the beginning of the year we had 5 quarterbacks? So if Britt is behind Brown and the coaches have no confidence in Britt where does that put the 2 behind Britt? First of all the responsibility goes to the top and that lays at the feet of Bobby Hauck. If I’m Kent I have Bobby in my office tomorrow morning and let him know if he doesn’t fix his problem then he’s on a short string. If the problem is Rosie then fix Rosie.
Which brings us to the bigger question. As a fan base are we so enamored with our past successes that our egos will not allow us to accept the fact that we’re just another good but not great football team? The fact that we have the best football stadium, the best training facility and soon to have an indoor practice facility does not translate to wins on the field. Bobby may think he has a job for life but our fans demand better than he has performed to date. Truth is Bobby needs to get his shit together. And his snide and condescending attitude towards the press needs to take a holiday.
I’m sure I could on longer but my frustrations with our inability to measure up to expectations is a hard pill to swallow.
I think I’ll dial over to the Idaho Sac St, game and witness some creative play calling.

Problem is that Kent is Bobby's little bitch. You wouldn't see Bobby get to treat press conferences, the #37 thing etc the way he has if Ken had any balls because it is an embarrassment to the university. He was pushed to hire Hauck and now is stuck being his little puppy.

Hauck brought in a transfer QB to start, he knew Brown wasn’t the answer because he doesn’t fit the offense. Then he fails to develop the kid or kids who are, and leaves Brown to struggle. I don’t blame Brown. Freshmen don’t play unless you’re down to your fifth or sixth sub, doesn’t matter how talented they are. How many years has it been since they got through the season without needing significant contributions from the backup? Three of the five starters in the o-line are transfers. See a pattern forming? Phen shows up and tells Bobby what he wants to hear, but not what he isn’t doing well. There isn’t a chance in hell this group of receivers is better than one with Akem & Toure in the room, but that’s the crap they’re peddling. Hauck is the problem. Been schooled three games in a row.

The fact is the offense is not designed for Kris Brown's skill set and the o-line can't provide a QB like Brown enough time to make the reads he needs. With a more intuitive QB they have a much better chance. I mean him no disrespect and don't question his dedication or heart, but you have to accept reality eventually. He is not the future of this offense.

His read (not reads) is one guy....evidenced today where he actually had time to throw, even did a lil pump-fake, and threw to the guy he watched during the entire play development. He had Ostmo wide open in the flats multiple times and didn't even look....dude is not a good QB, I don't care what anyone says. The fact he's ahead of a solid Nevada 5A QB and Oregon transfer I'd absolutely mind-blowing to me. OC & Hauck need to adjust or back their bags

You're suggesting this offense has design?

Tell that to Idaho and their frosh that lit us up for 286 yards passing.

What freshman is he talking about? Brown is a FOURTH YEAR sophomore. There were no freshmen on the field for us.

- Malik Flowers is the best kick returner the Griz have ever had and it’s honestly hard to imagine we’ll ever see someone of his specific talent and skill again .
And his only touches in the game were the KO returns. Figure that one out.

Idaho’s QB is a freshman and playing lights out.

Cole Grossman - 1 catch
Junior Bergen - 5 carries
Aaron Fontes - 2 catches
Malik Flowers - 0 catches, 0 carries
Harris - 0 carries 0 receptions
Childs - 0 carries 0 receptions
Knight - 9 carries, 0 receptions

17 touches between 7 of our best playmakers.

Meanwhile….Kris Brown? 12 carries for -7 yards. Nick Ostmo - 10 carries. Roberts - 5 catches

Longest play from scrimmage? 20 yards.

Same S*iT , different day - same s*iT different year. Guys, it's the same thing, year after year......... Very disheartening. I want to believe, but it's getting hard to do.

Backs against the wall now.

Go Griz!

Imagine next year after losing Johnson, Roberts, Flowers, Walker, O'Connell, Welnel, Robby (ok maybe not a big loss in reality), Ford, Alford, Dawson....and if the word is true some good underclassmen fed up and planning on leaving too. This was the year for Bobby to make noise in the playoffs.....and after reality set in they might back in if at all. 5 years and RTD is dead in the water

No doubt. Rohrbach is one of the greatest assets the team has. Not a good sign when your punter is so vital to keeping you in the game, though. Offense has to produce and keep Rohrbach off the field.

This offense is not going to produce under Rosenberg. Stuck in the Jurassic age.

Griz haven't had a play of more than 35 yards since Harris' long run against Portland State...the last Saturday of September....

Weber State is not good on offense. Yet WSU had a 47-yard run for a TD and a 69-yard catch and run today against a very good defense.

It seems to be lost on Montana that gash plays are almost entirely the key to modern-day college football success offensively...

We might not be the best offensive team but to say we aren't good is ridiculous. Montana has an outstanding defense and Weber scored 24 points which is only our second game where we scored less than 30 all year. Plus we were down 2 starting receivers and our starting running back.

It's not Bobby's job to develop the qb, that's the qb coach and the oc. It's his job to make sure they're doing their job. And they're not... we need new oc, qb coach, o Line coach. If we hire good ones that fixes all of our problems

Tommy Mellot was a true freshman last year and put up big numbers in just a few games and led the team to the natty game. . He continues this year.
