Seriously 75, give it a fukcing break. We all know how you feel and there is no reason to liter every thread with your diatribe.
Yet you feel compelled to respond.
I could not tolerate the douchebaggery any longer.
You've learned to live with yourself. You appear to have infinite tolerance.

Stitt stepped up and admitted he needs to improve in the offseason during his final 2016 press conference. Also mentioned fully examining schemes, first and foremost his offensive scheme, because he wants to make sure it's not preventing the kids from being successful.

At least you are giving the Stitt diatribe a break. #thinkpositive

Again fantastic words! The only issue I have with the entire post is this:

Can all of these things and more be achieved? I don’t know, but I hope so. While it’s been shaken a bit, I still have the confidence in this staff to do so.

My confidence is very low now in Mr. Stitt. Maybe I expected too much from day one IDK?
His powerful high octane offense and his "offensive ingenuity" hasn't transpired yet and I wonder if it ever will?

I don't like the idea of starting over with another new staff either, so therefore, I pray he gets it together next year!

Very concerned.

Yes he did. Tootel and Tucker on ESPN were playing some highlights. Hopefully someone can track down the transcript. He said some of what many on here say he is incapable of saying. Hopefully he can prove the doubters wrong because he is going to be here next season and I want the team to do well.

During his post game (or post-season) press conference, Stitt vigorously stated that the Griz are better than a 6-5 team. He failed to note that they were a 1-4 team during the latter part of the season and lost to a team that had lost to Sac. Didn't the Griz beat Sac by 60 pts or so? :? When he went on to predict bigger and better things next season it was pretty hard to take seriously. The decline the Griz suffered the second half of this season was astonishing. They are currently in a steep state of decline and it is a little hard to readily accept vows of great progress given the huge regression that took place over the last five weeks. Something seems seriously wrong. :(

Thanks again for this thread. I also think that if you don't have a degree of respect for your opponent you don't have respect for yourself. Trash talk up to the game...let each fan base rub it in when their team does good during the game and shake hands afterwards. One thing that hasn't happened is to congratulate Choate, his staff, and the Cat players for the win. I personally have said a lot of negative stuff about them this year(I'm not taking it back) however, they had nothing to loose going into the game, won...so congratulations to BCN well played game. Look forward to Cat/Griz game next year.

nicely said.

as a fan it is easy for me to give my :twocents: (which, i believe, is only worth a penny nowadays on egriz) because very few people to none know who is speaking, however, my observations of watching what took place this season was less than what was promised, expected and imagined. when this became imminent midway through the season (beginning at NAU) we continued to see the same and so did the opposing coaches and players which made it a little easier to exploit. without having a dominant piece to offset this momentum it presented itself as us being an average team not our usual threat.

this may have seeped through to the team as a lack of a motivating tool and began to work in the opposite direction.
to be a fly on the wall in the locker room would hopefully prove this to be wrong, but, again, as a fan, something was different this season that gave off this impression and has been noted by several egrizzers on this board and fans at the game.

bottom line is, we all want to see what you have plainly noted in your second half of your review, i still wonder how much of what did not change affected this team and individual players.

ok, moving forward.

Link? I must have missed that one. The only press conf I saw was the one with Stitt and the two players and he said nothing of the sort. Maybe somebody gave him some much needed PR coaching. No not Player Rep but Public Relations.

It's on Periscope. Kyle Sample just tweeted about the comments also.

Sorry to put a dent in the Stitt is an asshole narrative.

This was the most disappointing single season for Grizzly football since before the hiring of Don Read.

Appreciate your comments throughout the season but this right there sums it up, unfortunately. I will keep cheering and wishing for a turnaround, but honestly cannot expect much at all from this coach. The increase in penalties and the lack of consistent effort has been all too clear to notice and will be very hard to fix. Whatever happens, go Griz!

I think as Griz fans we're used to a new coach just snapping in and being successful but especially building from year 1 to year 2 - and this didn't happen. So it's really sent us for a loop. Some of the most ardent Stitt supporters have chatted with me and you can sense the concern there as well. I don't really think there's anyone saying everything is just fine.

When Stitt was hired he said he wanted to go someplace where it really mattered...he is finding out, right now, how much it really matters to Griz fans. He also said statistics don't really matter unless you get wins. Mines was the most efficient in the nation...Montana will be and he will keep the D fresh by sustaining drives and getting to his 90 plays. Not sure why this is not working at the DI level..maybe Brady just did not keep the confidence in his line, maybe his reads were bad but Stitt will take the blame. He sure sold his system but he really needs to evaluate why it is not working.

While I can admire a kind of La La Land approach to profound problems, in sports putting off the inevitable only does more and continuing harm to a program. Digging the hole deeper only makes digging back out that much harder.

The team has sent a pretty strong message to Stitt and to the fans. Stitt has confirmed that by his public complaints about "fire" and "intensity." If you don't know the effect that had in the Locker Room, you're an idiot. You don't deserve to claim to be a "fan." I disagree vehemently with Stitt's "blame the team" response to everything.
“It was all a mental thing, it had nothing to do with talent or the physical part. We weren’t ready, our minds weren’t in it and we didn’t handle adversity very well.”

“Hopefully it wakes some guys up,” he said. “You just hate to go into a football game and play in a manner that doesn’t represent your talent. We’ve worked so hard to get to a point, and then you take two steps back.
“We just didn’t come out with any type of fire and that’s been a problem for a while”
The team that lost the last four of five outings, the last to the "worst team in the Big Sky Conference," manned mostly by boys, with a quarterback that was just 17 years old a few weeks ago, wasn't the UM Grizzlies, it was a bunch of fine young men that just got tired of bad plays and constant ridicule and gave up on their coach. These are UM student athletes that deserve better. The Grizzly tradition deserves better. It's time for the adults to intervene.

Some of the posts on this site are unbelievable. I'll be the first to admit I don't like Stitt, he just rubs opposing fans the wrong way, but...giving up on him after two years is an absolute joke. The power some fans on this board think they have is just amusing...Its funny you forget that just last year you beat NDSU on National TV, and absolutely trucked your two biggest rivals in Eastern and MSU.

Eastern had an early exit from the 2014 playoffs, and then lost the last 3 games of the season last year, two of them at home, and two crushing defeats to our rivals (UM and PSU). No one gave up on Baldwin, but I guess in your theory he lost the team to end the year and we should have...

The Griz have one of the best fan bases in the FCS, arguably one of the best stadiums and settings in all of college football, and the majority of the time you put a really good product on the field. Enjoy the ride...

I haven't given up on Stitt/Semore yet. The jury is still out, and even more out after the last part of this season. While I don't know if they can get the job done next year, I hope they do. Note that I have not weighed in much on Stitt/Semore this year, or last year--in large part because the views on both sides seemed possible. Early in the season, the team and defense were better than I expected. I was hopeful after the 2 easy games, but said we'd see how the team did against NAU and EWU. Reasonably close, or in the ballpark, but no cigar. And then the last 2 games. Never saw that coming, except after UNC loss, wondered if the Cats might sneak up on the Griz. Was bummed my wife had scheduled us on a family vacation in Hawaii this week. When I saw the result as we landed, was glad I was in Maui.

I agree, losing 4 of their last 5 games, including embarrassing season ending losses to UNC and a bad Cat team, shows me that Stitt doesn't have it as a D1 coach. Well coached teams improve during the season, and poorly coached teams do the opposite. Special teams were awful all season, and the offense and defense got worse through the season. When teams deteriorate like the Griz did at the end of a season, something is deeply wrong. When a good coach like Ty Gregorak leaves, you know something is wrong.

I have seen enough to believe that the search for a new coach should start now. Of course, Haslam and Engstrom are not wise enough to do this, and we will have to watch this mess get worse and worse. Who knows where it will end? I am not optimistic.

Well from what I read Stitt said most of the right things. He had better understand this is not Mines and Griz nation expects and wants much more. On paper the Griz appear very talented. However none of that matters if the coach can't draw that talent out and mold it with others. There is ZERO reason this team should not have been 8-3. Stitt has some serious work to do and I think he knows he has one last year to turn this around. If we have another 6-5 or worse season next year Griz fans will be looking for blood. We will be the laughing stock if we are. The champions center opens and this team needs to have a successful season period.
I hope you can get it done Coach Stitt!
