Wow. Cmon

You think ndsu is on another level, right? We're stupid on egriz because we think we stand a chance?

UNDSU is the only team in the nation that evolved during the year. The team the Griz already beat (made up of the same players and coached by the same coaches) will look completely different. Every other team in the bracket, however, has not improved and/or regressed since Week 1. It's NoDak logic; and we know how they are known for their intelligence in the Dakotas.
NDSU won a LOT of very close games this year.

That means they are battle-tested. Nobody is going to go into the shed and whack them around.

Well, maybe weed whack, it being a tool shed and all.

Weeds?! You clearly didn't attend last week's noxious weed seminar/boat show/Jason Aldean concert at the shed. Local farmer Rusty Gildedcock gave a great talk on weeds. With any luck, we will make the noxious weeds that threaten the turnip crop each year a thing of the past.

That said, the Griz wouldn't be the first team to whack it in the shed.

They need to rotate their crop schedule. Move the turnips to the NE 40. Corn to the NW 40. Rutabagas to the SW 40 and rest the SE 40.

Well that's why the game is played. I don't know if you are wrong or right.

I'm betting the griz don't show up the same way either. I know ndsu is a great program, and worthy of respect. We'll all know in a week.

CDA having a nice run of misunderstood sarcasm. Looking forward to a full week of it.

Win, lose or go home bring on the TBitches. This is gonna be fun...

To be the best you have to beat the best. If the Griz are contenders they will go into Fargo and take care of business. Either way, I'm so jacked for this matchup! Wish UM could play NDSU every year. Outside of App State, they are hands down my favorite matchup. If they should beat NDSU I'd wager they make it to the championship this year!

The 4th and 19 was an all out blitz, no behind coverage, thus the anti prevent didn't work in this case. But I still like it better than prevent.

Interesting. Win some, lose some... Guess the call flys in the face of some posters saying Ty doesn't call blitzes or is "too vanilla".

Ty's become enamoured with the confusion pass rush, linemen standing and shoot gaps with backers on occasion. Like anything, it has some success and other times not, as in the case with big pass plays, when they don't get home. The safety was trailing the TE, and the QB made a great throw. This was a pretty good team we snuck by, they're going to make plays. The defense was dam good Saturday, and I hope this continues in the shed against UNDSU.

What surprised me was that SDSU showed it's hand multiple times with the blitz and not one receiver ran a hot route so Brady could get rid of the ball. With the size of Montana's receivers, throwing into where the blitz is coming from, you would think would play right into Montana's hands.
This is exactly what I was screaming every time sdst rushed. It's something that def needs fixed by Saturday. Great game! Here's to another strong performance next week! [CLINKING BEER MUGS]

I had the same observation. Seems to me we had chances to score if somebody came across the abandoned area especially after the total sellout by their defense on the blitz. A 10 yard pass play could have gone a long ways.

Don't forget, we would also need to get past either PSU, a team that rather handily beat us this year, or another MO Valley team in Northern Iowa. I would LOVE to see the Griz back in Portland!

That being said, SDSU gave NDSU a blueprint on how to slow down the Griz offense. The A gap blitz disrupted Brady big time. It took a while for Stitt to adjust. Another poster was lamenting the absence of hot routes where Brady could dump the ball into the gap left by the defender. That would have screwed SDSU big time, as our receivers were getting separation all day. I think Stitt countered with short out routes and quick passes that didn't give the pass rush time to get there. However, having the slot run the hot route in an outside blitz would just be devastating. Another thing I noticed was that there were no bootlegs away from pressure either.

Oh, well! A win is a win.

If UNI beats PSU, and if we beat NDSU, it will be two unseeded teams, so the bid takes the home game. Maybe, just maybe, we could have another home game.

I thought the same thing several times in the second half.

True... I was being a bit selfish.

Some observations.

It would have been a different game if SDS receivers had been able to catch the ball.

As many others have said, way too many penalties.

Would have been nice if Lider's 2 punts hadn't gone into the end zone.

I wonder why the first 5 "drives" of the 2d half were so bad. It had to be more than less aggressive play-calling. SDS must have made some adjustments. Those 3 and outs and the penalties allowed SDS to get back in the game. The defense held up quite well. I think SDS had 84 or so plays, and a big TOP advantage.

Hope KVA is all good.

I had no complaints about the refs. Thought they were pretty good, if a bit slow at times.

Great and important TD catch by Henderson.

Nice game by Nguyen.

The good UM drives for TD's were awesome and very exciting.

If that QB hadn't been so mobile, UM would have had 5 more sacks.

The a gap blitz has been an issue all year. I'm proud of the Oline's improvement this year, but it's still our biggest weakness.

How did Stitt "counter?" The Griz scored "0" and "0" in the last two quarters.
