To 10 at least. You guys at egriz are all smart enough to know that early season polls are crap. I am one of the few cat fans who never count the griz out and certainly aren't this year. That being said we have been hit hard by the injury bug but good teams make it through that. We will see how they recover.

Don't ever dismiss a rivalry. More than once, on both sides, these teams have won the brawl when they weren't supposed to. Given the fact that the road team has won the last three, November will be interesting. Never forget that JJ can get hurt to. I hope the cats can get their defensive sh!t together. The BSC championship should always be decided in our last conference game against one another.

Your going to lose the Brawl.. Your going to place 4th in the big sky and not get into the playoffs. Deal with it.

Start getting your lame exscuses ready. I do regret DM being injured and hope he get better for your ass whopping at the Brawl.

Please note these statements are not based on todays pointless UM game though.

4th would be gift right now. Will 4 conference losses get them 4th?

I don't share Brint's concern about taking the foot off the gas. Hell the 1st string was not perfect but they scored, scored, and then scored again with what about 15 total plays???. The coach did the best thing for all involved; our starting players, their players, our younger players, and the fans by subbing heavily once it was 17-0. I don't see what would have been gained by running up a 60-0 half time score.

Our younger guys got quality time on the offensive line, QB, RB, receivers and across the defense. As I commented elsewhere, our younger defensive players really NEEDED this time. At times they looked to be out of position, and far too often they missed far too many tackles. The game shouldn't have been scheduled but it was. So the staff did the best thing and made it an opportunity to develop our future team. Northern Arizona will see a fresh Griz unit who shouldn't have lost a step by sitting out this game.

Was @ the NAU/South Dakota game(Joe Glenn & boys), NAU New QB Poe, was pressured quite a bit & made some bad decisions. There defense(NAU) kept them in the game. SD QB had several opportunities to complete some long gainers, But overshot the receivers more than a couple of times. NAU has a very good punter, he hit one in the air for almost 71 yards. NAU Zach Bauman started slow, was held down for most of the 1st half, But opened up late in the 2nd half. A lot of missed tackles by SD defense. SD's offensive line was pretty big, average 305 across the front, But not very effective for pass protection & the run. Compared to the GRIZ offense, it could be a long afternoon for NAU secondary. NAU likes to stack the defense with 5 in the box & blitz quite a bit, leaving the middle wide open for screens & out of the backfield passes. They also bring pressure from the end positions. Secondary likes to play man to man, SD should've scored several times on the matchup, But QB didn't have time to throw.

Overall I'd say that if the GRIZ bring their pass attack & good blocking up front, they should have a really, really good day!!!! Go GRIZ

I'm not as down on Shay as many of you are, but I do think that they need to make Brady the backup and give him the garbage time snaps (there may be much more of that this year than thought). Shay has put a lot of time in and may deserve to be 2nd on the depth chart, but he hasn't proven himself as a guy who can ever be a starter. I think you have to start preparing for the future and give the guys that do have the potential to be starters for us the playing time.

I like the young talent we have at QB in Gustafson and Simis. Weyer, also, is having a very good year in Bozeman. I think between the 3 of them, one of them will emerge to be a good QB for us once JJ graduates.

NAU will see a Griz team that has the starters very rested, and a 2nd and 3rd unit that has had it's cherry popped (seen live bullets) so-to-speak.

Couple that with the fact that UM (players and coaches) have a bad taste in it's mouth from last years rare home loss to NAU, and you've got a formula for one focused, intense and highly ready Grizzly.

Basically NAU is in trouble. :thumb: (Although I highly respect them...great athletes)
