doesn't matter. Lets worry about rankings in November.

SDSU was over rated anyway. They are a top 20 program maybe top 15. As for the Cats, I really am not sure what to think where they belong. Offensively, they move the ball well. Defensively, I'll just say "The opposing offense moves the ball well too."

Actually 4 teams. Bozo heading south in a hurry. Next week could be bad for them against UND. Their defense is awful.

Who was the fourth team?

I think Copper didn't realize "Moo" refers to MSU.

That said the Griz should be poised to move up two spots.

Why did Smithwick-Hann get mop up duty against UND?

S-H understands the offense and doesn't make many mistakes. Too bad McKinney was sick. Would have been nice to see him in action and for him to get some experience.

I too would have liked to see the 1st string play to the half, but I guess it is what it is. Wish Griz could have got SFA, Central Arkansas, Sam Houston, or McNeese St on the schedule instead of this team.

Yeah, well next year we get Wyoming AND NDSU, both on the road to open the season...be careful what you wish for.

I saw it a little differently and I guess it'll be next Saturday before we know who's correct.

I thought we saw why the Seniors and Juniors who are the leaders of this team are the leaders and I really don't think they will have any problem ratcheting up their game again for NAU. This team is on a mission and if it's true that JJ got a little banged up, then I am definitely happy that the starters were sitting for most of the game. We got what we needed for this type of game - a chance for the backups to play and learn from their mistakes. Lots of good game film to go over and a chance to really hit and be hit for them. Sort of like preseason for the backups.

Definitely a disappointment that Trent couldn't play. I would have liked to see all 3 QBs each get a quarter to show their stuff. It would have been nice to see SSH and Brady both get a few more throws.

We definitely found a kicker. Worst was Best by quite a bit and let's hope that he can continue the tradition of quality freshmen placekickers. If he turns out to be the a kicker we can rely on, then this game will be well worth having played.

Tough luck for Addison Owen - losing his INT for a TD to a penalty. I hope there'll be many more chances for him in the future.

All in all, if this team plays like we think they should - a team built to win the Big Sky and go deep into the playoffs, then a 49-14 win against nobody at this point in the season will be meaningless for our rankings and seeding. And knowing how there will most certainly be some injuries we will have to go through, the more game experience we have for our backups, the better.

Boring to watch but it'll be long forgotten by the time we get to Cal Poly and the Eagles.

Shay S-H was 3 of 9 passing, and you wanted to see him throw it more. We saw him throw enough last season, he is not an accurate enough passer to be the backup QB, I thought and was hoping that they would give Gustafson the full second half at QB.

catch of the day: walcott in the north endzone.......great sambrano type focus to make that great catch....Naccarato had a nice over the head catch as well today.

sh missed a few routine passes over the middle today....i know they are actually the hardest to throw (between defenders and to accurately lead the receiver) but that is why you are playing at this level is because you can make those throws

i agree that we have not been fully tested up to this point and the portland game should prove that point........ especially if they beat cal poly next week

How far will the cats fall? To 9 or 10. Griz up 7 or 8

To 10 at least. You guys at egriz are all smart enough to know that early season polls are crap. I am one of the few cat fans who never count the griz out and certainly aren't this year. That being said we have been hit hard by the injury bug but good teams make it through that. We will see how they recover.

Don't ever dismiss a rivalry. More than once, on both sides, these teams have won the brawl when they weren't supposed to. Given the fact that the road team has won the last three, November will be interesting. Never forget that JJ can get hurt to. I hope the cats can get their defensive sh!t together. The BSC championship should always be decided in our last conference game against one another.

Your going to lose the Brawl.. Your going to place 4th in the big sky and not get into the playoffs. Deal with it.

Start getting your lame exscuses ready. I do regret DM being injured and hope he get better for your ass whopping at the Brawl.

Please note these statements are not based on todays pointless UM game though.

Good guy right here. Good post. I hope the Cats come in at full strength. It should be a battle. You guys had better keep up your end of the bargain.
