Good 'ol Growler returns

I attended the game, and here are my observations.
Our offensive line is vastly over-rated. They are big, slow-footed behemoths, but get schooled routinely by agile quick D-linemen.
They had a pretty bad game, mostly it seemed it was Schmaing and Poole that were having the most issues. Those two are the lighter/quicker of the Oline as well. The "bigger" side, Poehls and Kistler protected and blocked much better. I won't make any excuses for the O-line as they had a bad day but they had a great day against a fairly athletic App St D-line. I'm not ready to write these guys off yet at all.

Delaney is a disaster as a head coach. He risked the entire season by keeping JJ in the game late in the 4th quarter. JJ was eating carpet on every play, in a game that was clearly over, and could have easily been injured for the season.
Maybe Delaney was upset with the teams performance so he wanted the 1st unit to push through? I was worried as well about injury to any of our starters but given the way the game was unfolding I don't necessarily blame Delaney for wanting to push his 1st string to keep competing out there

How long will it take Delaney to recognize that SSH is not, and never will be, good enough to play QB at this level? Total waste of a valuable scholarship.
Kind of an ignorant post. What makes you assume he's even on a scholarship? A majority of Montana kids are just on a smaller/reduced one, if even one at all.

The two-O-coordinator system is a ridiculous! What, is Delaney, at 73, trying to start a new trend by having two of them? Kyfence (or whatever his name is, it sure doesn't rhyme with Offense) had the worst play-calling I can ever remember. We should have POUNDED the ball on the ground from the get-go, which would have stifled their pass rush, and opened up the passing game.
Nevermind that over the first 4 games we've got one of the best scoring offenses in the nation. It was a real bad game and I thought many of the play calls were questionable. I wanted to see more running the ball and quicker passing plays myself. Worst play calling you can remember? You must not have been a fan last year?

Outside of Coyle and Tripp, most of the other back 7 seven players are very poor tacklers.
Tully has improved quite a bit as well as Hermanson, but of course we were without Hermey.

Bauman will be playing on Sundays next year.
Doubt it. A practice squad maybe.

Canada needs to sit. He has had a fumbling problem his entire career. Counts should be starting, with Van used as a receiver from multiple formations, including reverses.
Yep, bench your two best running backs, intelligent idea.

While Henderson runs great routes, and is our best receiver, his hands are questionable. He had crucial drops against NAU.
I recall two deep passes where on the initial play I thought he should have had it. One was up the sideline where the NAU corner grabs his arm as the ball is coming in. Henderson argues for PI afterwards. I don't think it was PI as the defender was doing that right as the ball arrived. The other one was a deep ball where Jordy was off-target and Hendu tried to adjust to get to the ball and dived for it but didn't haul it in. Based on each situation calling his hands "questionable" doesn't make sense, putting in context the events of each play reveals that.

Delaney needs to be told NOW that he will not be returning, and our AD needs to be covertly starting the search for a new head coach, who should be hired immediately after the season, so that recruiting will not be effected.
3-1 is so unacceptable. We should certainly tell a coach who lost 1 game he's going to get fired. Great idea dumbass.

There is no assistant coach at UM who should be considered for the head job next year. Go outside to hire the new coach. New blood is needed badly, and has been needed for year.
See above comment.
