Post Game: Crisis Averted

Speaking of holding, how about the play where the UND center sailed it over Mollberg's head and the UND player held the jersey of our pursuer for about 3-4 seconds? I watched that in disbelief.

Oh man, forgot about that one, yeah, pulled the back of his jersey and slowed him down right there in front of the ref too.

These refs were particularly bad in general. Against both teams. I have often been critical of refs, but until this game, I thought the officiating had been generally fine this year overall.

PR - that was Hines who got the personal foul (which should have been off-set with a UND penalty too). He shoved the player over on his back, #65.

was the best block he had all day. Our o-linemen with a "6" in front of the second number who shared a womb......struggled. trying hard to avoid saying something awful about their performance. the L side of our line, from Center to Tackle....god....

those who are calling for different offensive schemes, alignments, etc....you need to wrap your head around this: with the o-line we currently have, NONE of those alignments/systems will work this year. we can catch a few teams off guard with some plays for a quarter or two, but the paint starts to peel after that. if you think we can be a passing team, you are out. of. your. mind. JJ would be dead. not figuratively. literally deceased. this is not gragg's problem. you can't teach frontier caliber lineman to play in the NFL.

JJ and Canada must feel cheated this year. they don't have a chance with what's lined up in front of them.

One of the things that we see on eGriz year after year is "we've got great players but the coaches can't coach". This year it's all about the coaches play calling.

I think that if you take a hard headed look at the Griz offensive talent you 'll see that we've got two or three talented players in the skill positions, but the rest of the line up are average to below-average Big Sky level players. I think many of the bad play-calls are simply plays that fail because the players are unable to complete their assignments.

5. Waggs is a god and was held on at least three occasions in the first half, UND fans, who by the way were super nice and very classy, please don't say our guys held too, because we all know you have to be in contact with a defender to hold and as we all saw that just never happened.

I don't care who ya are, that's some funny shit. But one correction: Wags was held on at least 3 occasions on every POSSESSION by UND. I'll narrow it down: he was held on every single play....it was their only hope of containing him.

Yes to all of us bitchers. No to all the trolls. And a happy week off for the Griz Players!

I feel bad for all of our defensive players, they are playing lights out but as luck would have it our offensive design is set to fail. Make the playoffs? If so we will be easy pickings for others especially away from our conference!

With a decent design and with our present players we could have been a team to watch and perhaps gone all the way!

The fat lady has not begun to sing but she is warming up.......

Our "present" players, which consists of EIGHT guys on offense who weren't projected starters at the beginning of fall camp, have this team at 4-2 and in first place in the BSC. Instead of complaining about their play, we ought to be singing their praises from the rooftops.

Exactly what I thought. Now, I'm no PlayerRep, and don't know much about football, but are we not trying to run a pro Style Twin Tight End-and-fullback power running game with the youngest, lightest O line in the history of modern Griz football? Something has to change.
Not to mention flyweight RBs....

I’d like to take a whole section to complain about the officiating too but it’s the Big Sky, missed calls, non-calls, and mistakes are just what you get here at times. Lots of stuff today that was frustrating.

BW, you took the words right out of my mouth/head. My final comment is: the Griz won, God bless Sullivan, thank the Lord for a bye week ahead, and playing Davis coming out of the bye. The future may be good.
