Post Game: Baffling loss

I saw another thread that said welcome to Sucksville.

I am starting to think that most of the whiny butts on this board need to move to that burg.
If you are a true Griz fan then get behind them and cheer them on.
Many of you are starting to remind me of the Hillary supporters who lost and are now marching around saying Stitt is not my coach..... If that's the case move to Canada.

I have a feeling the Griz will dismantle the Bobcats this weekend.
And even if they don't...... Go Griz!
The inference that a fan cannot evaluate and criticize past performance while being a team supporter is just lame. They are not mutually exclusive at all, in fact, rose colored glasses that everything is just fine is not what helps folks focus on the improvements that are required to be more successful. Good fans want the Griz to consistantly improve to optimize their success. They can criticize past failures and still support the team's future. Why is that so hard to understand by the thin-skinned crowd?

Why is it so hard for people who don't understand the game and don't know how to coach to realize that most of what they are saying is not correct?

Why is it so hard for some people to understand that what they say or criticize about players and performance on the internet has no positive impact whatsoever on improving the play of the team?

My view is that team supporters who unduly criticize their team are actually not much for being supporters.

This might be the most arrogant post I've ever read on e-griz... And that's saying something.

Two things. Look at the post above my post. Mine is a take off of the one above it. This obviously went over your head. And, my post seems to fit you fairly well.

You attack critical discussion whether undue or not. This is a fan forum; fans discuss their team's performance past and present; they want it to be better. That is reality; that is team support. Of course their discussion does not impact team performance; neither does your lame gatekeeping to dodge reality. But it does fuel more intensity of their support for their team. When it's over the line, it should be called out, but you call out discussion just because it doesn't fit your narrative which is transparent to everyone. It will continue because real fans care about the fate of their team and your undue condescending gatekeeping is easy to ignore.

I am entitled to my view, like everyone else. Stating my view is not attacking critical discussion nor dodging reality. It is stating my view. Just because it may not agree with posters like yourself, or hurt your apparently sensitive feelings, is not of concern to me. You and I don't agree on what supporting the team means. You and I apparently don't agree with what over-the-line is. You apparently think supporting the team is a narrative. I believe that supporting the team is what fans, good ones at least, should do. I have confidence in my posting about football and Griz football and will continue to provide information and my views. This will likely sometimes include pointing out posting that I believe is unduly negative towards players, coaches and the program. I know you and others will continue, at times, to diss the team, players, coaches, the conference, FCS. That seems to be some of what you are about. You confuse negativity with objectivity. I have never understood why some posters believe that what they say is so special or sacred, that other posters shouldn't challenge it or disagree with it.

With a healthy BG, UM wins handily. BG would have picked the NC coverage apart. Chalich flushed out of the pocket too early about half of his 24 runs. And this with only a 3 man rush. Half of his swing passes were not in the right place for the receiver to catch the ball on the run. Multiple bad decisions by Chalich pulling it on read plays and getting nothing.

Same thread :liar:

Nope. Perfectly consistent. Healthy and normal discourse and discussion about the game and team. Just what Kem and I fully agree on. No "undue" or "over-the-line" criticism whatsoever. In fact, a mere short comment and summary of what multiple people who watched the game have said, including many on egriz. Similar comments to what the announcers were saying in real time during the game.

Not saying you can't complain/evaluate, I have done my share of that already. The thing is, it seems to turn into a name calling - I know more than you attitude. After all this is just a game. Then I go to my doctor 3 weeks ago and I am told I have cancer then it turns out that this stuff really isn't all that important. I try to see the best in people and when people do the opposite of that, well.....

But then I read this kind of stuff.....
Posters might look no further than Washington State to find a head coach who is also the offensive coordinator, Mike Leach. The difference being Leach is a coach who knows what he and his staff are doing and not some D2 castoffs. The longer the Griz stick with this joke of a coach the worse the program will become.

Yet you flip your collective shit when this happens:

"I really like Brock but is he an outside LB at this level? Got beat bad on that TD. Not to mention, he got identified by Gruden as the guy who got beat on the punt block.... hang in there Brock!"

Yes, I like Coyle, know him a bit, talked to him at a Griz game when he and Tripp attended earlier this season, and often defend friends or people I like. I don't particularly like the poster that made that post, as well as multiple other posts over the years dissing TG and various safeties who competed against the poster's son. Dissing a Griz and friend or someone I like, done by someone I don't like or respect, sometimes results in a comment from me. Free country. He and you get to say what you want, and I get to say what I want--without reason and the rules of the board. Don't understand how your comments or posts related to anything that has been discussed on the board. I don't recall telling anyone that they can't post what they want. Sometimes, I do question why they say what they do, or why they don't support the team more. If you think Chalich played a great game at NC, go for it. I won't be agreeing, tho. Neither does most of the board. Are you a Chalich friend or relative? Looks like you showed up on the board about the time Chalich was joining the Griz.

That statement says far more about the poster than it does about Stitt. People are entitled to their opinions and if they don't care that anyone agrees or even takes them seriously then they should express them in a really lame way ensuring that they will be dismissed and no one will care.

When people agree with me, it's okay. When people disagree with me it is not okay.

Fixed that for you.

what I noticed while at the game....
2. the touch down pass that was given up early was due to one player playing zone and everyone else was man to man.....must have been the player that did not get the defensive call as everyone else was in their proper position.

That play was one of several where the three DB's on the right side (McKinley, Sanders & JR, I believe)were confused, hands up in the air, looking at the sideline, running back and forth, pointing and yelling, unsure of the coverage scheme or whom to cover....I was pissing and moaning up in the stands about it right up until UNC snapped the ball....the end result was pretty predictable...until Semore gets THAT shit figured out, it's gonna be tough on the D. Can't have half the team not knowing the defensive call at the snap of the ball.

Even with Stitt concentrating on offensive adjustments, coaching players asking offensive assistants about what they saw/think. (what OC's should do during defense possessions ( he must "notice" this disarray and know it's an issue and deal with it as a head coach.....maybe being OC is too much to also be head coach if he doesn't see it's a problem. Anmouncers, fans sure see it happening far too often for a team after almost an entire season.

Even the DL was frequently not set at the snap of the ball (same as ISU) and UNC wasn't even in a hurry-up. Had their QB been accurate he would have run up several more long ones because we were consistently beaten deep. It was so obvious live, I can't imagine how bad it looks on film. Fortunately MSU doesn't throw the ball well. Playoff teams would.

The question of the day is, how does Semore NOT have that figured out by now, at the DI level of college football? I've always been proud of what game announcers and sports writers have been able to say about "The Griz." This season, for the first time, I am hearing and reading people saying, publicly, "WTF" about Griz behaviors on the field. "The Griz Defense is in chaos." I don't care who the D Coordinator was in the past, I've never heard those words on the public airwaves before and I've been on this beat for 46 years.

The other question of the day is, why is Stitt publicly blaming the players for not having "fire?"

Six weeks ago, a small coterie of the usual trolls here were celebrating the fact that the D DIDN'T celebrate after successful plays. "DISCIPLINE!" they all bobbled their little heads in unison. "By God, Stitt and Semore have this team WHIPPED INTO SHAPE!"

There was proof positive that these people don't understand 20 year olds playing football or any other sport. They didn't understand what they saw. The team was losing its enthusiasm. They bent the facts to fit their agendas.

Maybe, now that the Head Coach has publicly become the chief critic of UM players for their lack of enthusiasm, they will revise their opinions. Any bets?
