- I'm not sure if I should be jacked to see Counts do his thing today or just pissed to think his RS has been burned (or put on hold for now). 58 yards, almost a 10 ypc average, 2 receiving TDs. The dude was slippery but had good power too. I hope his in-game experience carries over next year as it looks like our RB grouping will be Canada/Kirsch/Counts!

I'm pissed there was no reason to burn it, we had kirsch to fall back on as well, now we will only get him for another 3 years.
Agreed but he did prove himself in yesterdays game so he will be in the mix next season. If he did not see action this season with Canada and Kirsch he may not have gotten much of a look, at least that's the best spin I can put on it.
Agreed, but with kirsch and walden both back there, I really don't see the point. It wasn't until yesterday we got to see what he can do and he will be a beast. But we burn it for like 2 plays in the first game he plays and then is relavated to special teams duty for the next 2. I just don't see it. If what's his name wants to call me a dumbass as he did in his post so be it.

I would just much rather have had him for the next 4 years but oh well.

GO GRIZ!!

Modern day college football is about winning games and putting the best players on the field. It's not about preserving red shirts. Counts was taken off red shirt in part to prepare him better for next year. Running on the scout team does not give a player nearly the type of reps and practice, let alone game experience, as playing does (even if a modest amount). This is particularly true for running backs. With two senior backs (and Walden as a third), the team needs more experienced backs to be game ready at the start of the season next year. Counts also brings some size in Moore's absence. Counts looked terrific. This was a good move by the coaches.

I don't know if it were a good move or not but since Mick is not going to be here beyond next season and he knows it why would he leave someone on the bench that can help him now and get some reps for next year under his belt. I think if mick were planning to be coach for the next five years he would not have done that.

Delaney finally stopped driving the Lexus like a Ford Focus. There is no way this team should have more than 2 losses.

Actually, I agree with PR on why the coach would use Counts in preparation for next year and possibly the cats, but at the same time there is no way we can make the playoffs, so why waist the redshirt.

Watching the game yesterday totally has me excited for next year. For large chunks of the 2nd half we had four freshmen (Holmes, Ginn, Kidder, Crittenden) on the DL dominating the line of scrimmage. Not to mention Takai & Wags are just sophs! Counts is a beast, Kirsch looks for contact, Canada's a stud, most of the OL returns, QB (whoever it is) will be fine, Tripp & JP at LB, Gamboa & Whitted getting lots of time at safety, DB's all returning with a rough year to learn from, etc......This team is loaded & is going to be SCARY good the next 3 years plus!! I think the rest of the Big Sky knows what's coming, more of the same (minus this year of course). If they don't, they'll find out real quick.

Good performance by ISU QB Kevin Yost. 323 passing yards and a 64% completion rate. Great response to UM's pass rush. He released the ball quickly and seemed to always have an open receiver.

Twas great to see some good football from our Griz. After a long period of bad ball.

Counts will be the stud of the future. Holmes will be the future King on defense. Four pretty damn good QBs on the team. Punter and kicker are Frosh performing very well. Good LBs on the team for next season. Excellent lines on both sides of the ball.

Worry? DBs might rank last of the entire league. Special teams on kick offs are near the bottom. Both returns and receiving and in all aspects.

We might lead the nation in sacks but our DBs cancel all the good. My take is the talent is on the team but coaching is simply foul concerning our backs on defense. This is the only way the next 2 hair-ball teams named pussy can beat us. Pussy teams will note our more than hair-dresser defense and mess up our hair piece. Unless of course, we play a much needed hair-raising defense in the backfield!
