Post Game: 5-1

Did the refs cause this:

"Struck started the game 8-of-9 passing for 130 yards, including a 71-yard slant to Michael Dean that set up Flanagan’s first touchdown, a 1-yard plunge.

After the hot start, though, Struck was just 8 of 24 for 59 yards the rest of the game.

After throwing 10 touchdowns in two-and-a-half games to start the season, he had none Saturday."

The QB couldn't handle the pressure of the crowd and noise, and the Griz rush. He lost his game. Threw great at first, and then was pretty inaccurate. 33%.

Those darn refs.

Classic case of Bengal fandumb. What’s next BSC doesn’t pick Struck for POW for second week in a row?

Just watched the replay of the game. Hard not to love this team. Sneed can will himself to walk on water; JLM's block in the third quarter; and Humphrey's block on the Eastwood run. Unselfish team players.

Yes, I'm sober!

Kind of a shitty time for a bye, given how they’ve been firing on all cylinders....

Guess only time will tell...

And by “all” cylinders I mean....oh f*** it. Never mind again.

I like it, two weeks to prepare for mighty Sac State

I'll be curious to see how the cats do against them next week.
I think Sac is gonna put up a ton of points. Cats get exposed next weekend. They are not a good team. Their weak ass schedule has been playing to their advantage. I also believe ND will roll them too.

I wouldnt say theyre not a good team....their defense and offensive line is very good. They have good RBs also. Really the only place they are lacking is QB....the most important position yes...but somehow...and I mean that, I havent figured it out yet...they keep winning without one.

I think eventually a team like Montana is a horrible match up for the Cats....a team that can keep scoring all game will give them problems. If you get into the meat grinder style game that they want...thats when they get dangerous.

Good point on the blocks. JLM also had the key block on an early run in first quarter in front of UM bench, where he stayed on his corner/safety for a long time to allow Knight to get outside and pick up about a 10 or 12 yard first down. I saw the other one you mentioned too. JLM ran very hard to get to that block, really at full speed, again in front of UM bench. Loved seeing Humphrey hand off or pitch, and then spring down field for the block. Thought he should have been inserted a series earlier.

My take too on when Cam should have been put in. During the game -- on the game thread, two scores before Sneed called it a day -- I said something like "One more score, and Sneed should come out." Was surprised when he stayed in for that one more series. Hauck doesn't give an ishtay about records or individual awards (well, unless it's something really special), so I'm guessing there was something he or the OC wanted to work on.

The look pretty terrible to me. Their defense isn't very good from what I saw. Any decent offense will pick them a part. Missed assignments everywhere. Will give up big plays constantly. Only positions that I think is good or very good for them are the RBs and the offensive line. The rest of their team is garbage.

The cat-hornet game is going to give us an idea of where things are. Sac State will give msu all they can handle and a win will send a pretty strong message to the rest of the league. Should be a good one.

I wonder. :?

Every week so far, we've had this refrain on eGriz: "This is the week that will tell us where the Griz -- and other teams -- stand." Aside from some obvious anomalies -- think UC-Davis and EWU -- it just hasn't worked out that way.

Maybe this week will be different. ;)

In any case: GO GRIZ! :egriz:
