Possible Cancellation

They're getting it from NWS, which is an operation that is employed to scare the shit out of people. The NWS called for winds to blow 30-40 MPH the last two days in Havre, and it's never blown more than 10 MPH with no gusts. The storm on Monday and Tuesday was supposed to dump 18-20 inches on Havre according to the NWS. We got less than a foot.

Before the Weber game they predicted a high of 26, and it the high was 42 that day.

They do this shit all the time. It's annoying as hell, and it's caused 90% of the drama on this board this week. Hell, look at the post right after yours.

This is why I've stared a bunch of weather threads to be a smartass.

I'm drinking beer outside on Saturday, one way or another.

Dopplebock or Oktoberfest..you should be able to drink them without worrying about freezing...unlike BL....amirite Pols ;)

Today in downtown and on campus, the wind blew about 25 mph. The wind is always stronger downtown and at the stadium because of the Hellgate winds. If there are wind gusts to 25-30 mph, and you're sitting in the west or south stands, it will be unbearably cold. A 30 mph wind at 0 degrees will have a wind chill of -26 which will cause frostbite in 30 minutes.

They called for 15.38" here in Billings and we got about 7"...
Why isn't anyone complaining about the Carroll game? Oh, that's right. Here in Montana we don't bitch and complain about the small things.
I think the Carroll game is in Kentucky this weekend. But i hear there is an ice storm headed that direction...

yes, to exposed skin. I work outside every day. I have lived in MT all my life. I have never got frostbite. Don't stick your tongue on metal, unless it is a stainless steel flask.

They can't measure wind speed either.....no way we got 25-30mph winds. When it about blew our awnings off our business a few weeks ago they said that gusts hit 20mph and that was way worse than any winds from today.

ok Why not..................................This is just another reason we should move up

Actually, it's a classic CYA ploy. There's a good-sized NOAA station here in IF, and this is -- somewhat dated, I admit -- straight from a guy I interacted with professionally: The gov is so afraid of terrible publicity from a deadly weather event, the forecasters almost always emphasize the worst-case scenarios predicted by their models. (Since it's nearly impossible to sue the government, it's not about a real threat of litigation, BTW.)

wait'll they get a load of Steven Ross.

edit:

Ha I asked our ad today if that was even a remote possibility and he said no. It would have to get quite a bit colder.

A decision of this magnitude would have had to been made by now. No way will this game be cancelled. I never in my wildest dreams would have ever thought Griz fans would not show up my the numbers being discussed.
Go Griz!!

Well that settles it. Might as well cancel the game, and we all know, canceled games go to the Southern team.

Congrats to CC. You are obviously have the most annoying parents.
