This may have been posted eirlier but I did not see it. It apears that UM and msu have both offered him.

Kelly Kaigler, 6-1 JR PG San Jose (Calif.) Oak Grove,
is a bit of a sleeper in the 2008 class, but he still has a number of schools expressing interest in him.
We spoke with Kaigler recently and he gave us a list of schools.

“Santa Clara, San Diego, Montana, Montana State, UC Santa Barbara, Loyola Marymount, TCU, Albany, Holy Cross, Bucknell, Portland and Portland State,” said Kaigler. “I’ve also heard a little from Texas Tech and Washington State, but not too much.”

Kaigler said Montana and Montana State have offered a scholarship.

The two big spring Highschool AAU tourney's are finishing up this week end. The Vegas Eastern tourney a few weeks back and the Houston Tourney this week end. After this week end the schools will start cutting players from there list and adding tons of new player

It will be very interesting to see if the Griz hoops ad/intro done by chisel will have an effect on recruiting. If UM could air their ads in seattle a couple times a week it would do so much for the school.

Hurley is coming aboard for 08. He seems to be a natural 3 to me. Multiple recruiting threads here have potential recruits as Guards. I definately think we need more athleticism and quickness at guard. With all the Guards being recruited, I take it as a good sign that Tinks likes our young big guys. This bodes well for Selvig, Vanderjagt, and Qvale. My guess is Tinks plans to focus on bigs in 08 and 09, unless a big too good to be true falls into our laps. I really am liking how the future looks, but still praying the Harthun kid somehow miraculousy chooses montana!

Tyler Hurly will be on board nest year (07-08) he is a senior this year. Unless of course he Grey shirts which is tough for a basketball player.

Harthum is really exploding right now, I think by next fall he will be a Pac-10 signie.

Right now most Bigs all think they are going to big time programs so they will generally not list lowly Big Sky this early. As the spring and Summer AAU ball continues the Big men will start to be sorted out as to what level they should be in. Of course the key for big Sky schools is to find the sleepers.

What I am trying to say is that it is normal at this time to see a Big Sky school with far more guards on their lists than big guys. Mid Summer the Big guy's will be added to the list.

I knew he was 07, did not even realize I typed 08. I guess I got Hurleys confused. ALI I know is 08 for the LG. At least all this recruiting news has sparked the basketball posts quite a bit. I hope it last for awhile.

From Feb 15th

Ceylon Elgin-Taylor: (SO) 6-foot-2 (180) from San Jose, CA.

"Ceylon is a true point guard. He has a great basketball IQ and logs a lot of minutes for us night in and out," said Hernandez.

Elgin-Taylor is averaging 13.2 ppg, 4.7 assists and 4.2 rebounds in 37 minutes of action. Ceylon visited Montana-(offered) back in the fall. UT San Antonio-offered, Southern Utah-offered, Weber State-offered, Northern Iowa, Arkansas-Little Rock, Arkansas State and UT-Chattanooga are following him this spring.

"Ceylon, nicknamed Junior, shoots a lot of free throws each game for us," said Hernandez

The following article does not mention it but I have it on good authority, that Montana, Montana State, and Eastern Washington have offered this recruit.

His name is Mark McLaughlin and is a 6-4 wing from Kenmore Wash. and Inglemoor high school. He was rated about the 7-8th best 2008 player in Washington at the beginning his junior year. After just finishing his Junior he is now rated as the 2-3 player. Primarily known as a slasher before the season, he has improved his stock developing his 3 point game.

Mark McLaughlin, a 6-4 junior wing from the state of Washington, has been a bit under the radar outside of the Pacific Northwest. But the high majors in that area are well aware of McLauglin and have been in touch...

Mark McLaughlin, 6-4 JR SG Kenmore (Wash.) Inglemoor, is a smooth and talented scorer with a nice upside. We spoke with McLaughlin recently and he listed the schools that have been in contact with him.

"I've been hearing from Washington a lot and Oregon State came to my school the other day," said McLaughlin. "Washington State, Oregon and Nevada have also been calling."

We asked McLaughlin if any schools have offered yet.

"No, they haven't said they were offering yet," said McLaughlin.

When asked if he has a sense for which programs are recruiting him the hardest, McLaughlin said, "Nevada, Oregon and Washington have been recruiting me pretty hard."

McLaughlin said style of play is an important isssue for him.

"I like to play a fastbreak style," said McLaughlin. "Location isn't a big deal. I just want to go to a good program where it is a good fit."

McLaughlin said he's open to hearing from other programs.

"I haven't really started to narrow it down, so I'm open to other programs. I want to see who else might be interested in me," said McLaughlin.

McLaughlin said he's not close to making a decision.

"I'll probably go past the summer."

McLaughlin told us he has a 3.0 GPA.

BTW he is the cousin of Great Falls high and future Bobcat Bobby Howard.

He probably wouldn't turn down an offer to play in the Pac-10 and we don't run anymore.

If Nevada offers that might be tempting for him. Kemp and Sessions announced today they were entering the NBA Draft, but were not hiring agents, which means they could still return for their Sr year. I see Oden is going and two other Buckeyes are entering without agents.
