Portland State Vikings scouting report

Was there a few times in the last 1.5 years. I believe it and have seen it. PDX has let a lot of their city go to absolute sh!t. There are still some wonderful spots in the town, great spots to eat, etc. My oldest two kids both thought it was eye-opening to see what is going on in Portland. Especially to see what it has become in the last 15 years.

Is it perfect, no, but the bullshit being peddled is totally fake. I have been to PDX numerous times also, and have never once felt unsafe.

It's a large city. It has some challenges. So does every large city in America. Or every small town in Montana for that matter.

You also consistently post some of the most brain dead drivel on this forum. You'll have to forgive those of us with a functional brain if we take your word with a heaping helping of salt.

My own experiences in Portland over the last 5 years vs. the last 15 would tell me that FOX is exaggerating a very real issue, but it is a significant issue.

And I say that if you are basing it on 5 years ago, you are part of the problem peddling the bullshit.

I was there for work several weeks ago.

My comment about 5 years and 15 years was in reference to the steady degradation of public order and the slow acceptance of decay. PDX is a shell of what it was 15 years ago and they people that think otherwise clearly have forgotten what that city was.

But the city is better than it was, getting better and the people that believe the FOX and OAN type stories are getting fed a pile of bullshit. No one has said it is perfect, but it isn't like it is be portrayed, not even close.

If you want to see a city that has gone to crap, go to Bismarck, North Dakota. Homeless on almost every corner and I never feel safe walking around after dark.

You were saying HG?

One QB passed for 150, the other for 63. 5 total INTs

Most of the issues with vacant buildings is that lots of offices left the downtown core after the shift to remote work. There just isn’t the population of office workers to support the downtown core as it once was.

It’s certainly different now and a touch more drab, but it’s still a place that I feel perfectly comfortable raising my family.

I live near Portland and have for 43 years. The sad part is that Portland in the 80’s and 90’s was extremely safe and really beautiful. The fact it went down hill at all is a crime. It is better than it was. They are cleaning up some areas and are better about handling homelessness. There are still areas where I won’t go.

Sure, but pick any city and there are areas to avoid.
