While Rohrbach has been awesome, frankly I hope he never sees the field.... unless he's doing kickoffs again!

He could ask the Oregon State punter on how to handle not seeing the field during a game.... :coffee:

Ouch....

I'm confused PSU was tabbed 9th by the coaches in the preseason poll and now all of a sudden they are going to stay within two touchdowns of Montana? The coaches kid didn't want to play for them. Colters preview made them sound like an FBS team, maybe he just wants Montana to lose???
If the Griz are going to make noise in the Playoffs they should not struggle with PSU or any team in the bottom of the conference.
Do we not match up well with them? Is their desert swarm defense going to cause issues?
Are their receivers better than Montanas DB's? Is their Qb really good. IDK
You all have me nervous now.

Like I said, if UM cannot mop the floor with a team that isn’t even in the top four of our conference then we aren’t a contender for the title. I think we are, which is why it makes zero sense to me that there are some thinking this game will be close.

Because it's football, and things can happen to make games close. It doesn't decide a contender because the Griz have a closer game than some fans expected. The hope is always that we're winning in September and October, peaking into November. I don't think this game will be close but I won't freak out if, God forbid, it's not a blowout, and the Griz win and stay healthy.

In Brint I trust…..a tougher slog portends, no push over Saturday. The ‘preseason’ is done and the sky ahead will say a lot of how good we are in competition. I see anywhere from 10 to 14 pt. spread…the good guys in maroon of course!
The money has a 25.5 pt. spread. I'll follow the money rather than you nervous Nellies.

Agree with this...but, homecoming games can and have been strange at times.

PSU is a strange bird. I’m not sure the Griz cover the spread. They have been a historically tough out for the Griz, regardless of venue. From 2010, the average Griz margin of victory is around 20 points, but that doesn’t account for the two losses we have taken. With all games, the Griz are definitely on the plus side points-wise, but the average margin of victory is closer to 11 points.

That spread has not been historically covered, and even then very few games were lopsided enough to cover it. It is almost always a tight matchup. I think the Griz win handily, but by 25.5? I don’t think so. I’m thinking closer to 14. This is largely fixed on how well the O plays. We know the defense will be rugged.

A couple things:
-Zero / zero is undefined not 0% (no one has taken a snap in our red zone) ;-)
-Both SJSU and Auburn are terrible. I think you’re using that Auburn game to make SJSU look better.
-SD is better than PSU by a little bit I would argue.
-I can also see a weird game like you, but I think we win closer to 20 points than 10.

I think if we stay focused which I have no doubt the staff will we should pull away in the second half. This team is so deep on both sides of the ball it's like we could field two complete teams.
Keys for me is keep Lucas upright, limit the defense of getting to him and wish he would not run as much but then again that's him, just like Jordon Johnson. In fact they play Kinda similar with Lucas a much bigger guy. Defense is like Seal Team 6, offense's never know what to expect which is why they may be the funnest group to watch. Special teams I think will continue to improve and be more consistent as well.
Griz 40
psu 10
Hope we don't look past these guys to next weeks game in Pocatello.🤣🤣

One of the things I look at every week is depth. This week, as in many to come, I think the Griz have considerably more depth, particularly on defense, and In many offensive skill positions. In the second half this could be key.
I will go Griz 35-10!

It's the Dot's Pretzel Bowl!!

It is kind of strange, considering they've been mediocre or worse for most of my lifetime. Other fans may scoff at the notion that playing us is other teams' Super Bowl, but it certainly seems to be the case with them.

I too watched the Portland State-San Jose State game late into the night. Portland State should have won by two touchdowns. They had the better QB and a tough slippery white kid at receiver. Mistakes killed them. And while San Jose State is not a Pac12 caliber team, they're no slouch either. They've got a good young coach and lost the next week at Auburn by eight.

The Vikings are gunning for us. A win here would turn their season around. Their coach will have a great game plan. So while I'm confident we'll win, let's not go full-Putin here. The wise team is the humble team.
