William Poehls calls them “fixable things.”
“They were playing with almost playoff intensity,” Poehls said of the Lumberjacks. “... We didn’t have the same intensity as we had our first three games.
“We had almost like a scrimmage mentality instead of conference game mentality, especially on the offensive line. We didn’t compete as hard as we could have.”

..... WHY ?
Is anyone else perplexed by those comments ?
After last year's losing record, where is the players and coaches 'take-no-prisoners' attitude ?

this is an excellent question !!!! no one that I know of has even addressed these comments,,first imo we should dictate all these areas...was it "over coaching during the week",,the captains, the whole team being lethargic, and why didn't we fix it during the game, not wait until later to figure it out....this is very disturbing, if you ask me because it goes deeper than just x and o....it's an attitude....

Oklahoma panhandling. State happened. We blew out und. We took a nap during okpsu.these guys haven't played hard in 2+ weeks and were not focused. I blame the staff for not getting them into the game.
Perhaps after three straight beatdowns they took on the "just roll the ball out there for a victory" mentality.

I guess we will soon find out if UM is a legitimate contendor, or pretender.
    Go Griz !
catdaddy7 said:I think having your bye week so early kind of screwed you guys. Question:
How much control does a team have on choosing where your bye week falls?
I'd think it would be ideal to have it at the season mid-point but I've never
seen the Cats or the Griz have it at an ideal time. Good luck against PSU.
Kidder was kind enough to field some serious questions from the Game Day staff about loaves of savory meat, his high school alma mater Helena Capital and perhaps his favorite topic – winning football games.
Q: I mean this in the most analytical way, but what the hell happened last week at NAU?
A: Well, we look at it like we beat ourselves. They are a good team, (Zach) Bauman is a great running back, they had a great game plan, and they competed really hard. But we were just flat. We weren’t ready, and we’re a lot better than we showed, I know that for sure.
It's almost impossible to keep the focus and intensity on ultra high every game all season. It's a team sport and a lot of variables are at play, a couple bad matchups turn the momentum and the outcome of a game. These guys are student athletes not proffessionals. It was an off week, I still personally believe we are a better team than NAU. The season will have it's ups and downs for all teams in conference, don't try to extrapolate too far in the future over one game. I am confident you will see a different intensity and focas from the griz today.Proud Griz Man said:Kidder was kind enough to field some serious questions from the Game Day staff about loaves of savory meat, his high school alma mater Helena Capital and perhaps his favorite topic – winning football games.
