Education for these kind of people is a huge challenge given their inability to decipher credible sources of information. And for those that are entrenched in these ridiculous conspiracy theories, no amount of logic or reason will change their minds. The second you dispel one absurdity with truth, they will simply move the goalposts to an even more preposterous conspiracy theory. It's one of the more troubling current trends in my opinion.Lots of people don't get vaccinated today because they are scared. They have been taught to not trust the media sources they trusted to build their country and their world. They have been taught to look for leadership that offers simple solutions to amazing complex problems. They have been taught that intelligent people who work and research their asses off are "out of touch elites". You won't change their thinking with belittlement and insults, only with education.
I believe there needs to be a concerted effort in schools to teach children how to vet credible sources of information on the internet and social media. Social media in particular has driven this strange phenomenon where people with absolutely zero education or expertise on a particular topic still are viewed as credible as long it lines up with one's confirmation bias.
