Sorry that it upset you so much that I don't keep up with the status of Portland's facilities. Maybe if they had a championship more recent than the 1977 Blazers, they would have a bigger following, but then if a city full of liberals was really concerned about it, they would do something about all the people living in tents under the freeways than renovating a stadium for soccer and kicking the local university out.
Yes, it was 2006 when I visited there, but how many games did they play after that to begin with? I was about to retire from 23 plus years in the Army at that time and stayed with my sister in Lake Oswego and I believe she and her husband were upset because that whole project had just been voted in. I have been back there more than a handful of times to visit my sister, but I haven't gone downtown to see the place because I don't really care if they play lawn darts or anything else there.
Apparently, you have some attachment to it, so we'll see if they ever play another game there again and wish you the best if that's what you would like to have happen.
