Portal and Roster Limits

I know plenty hoops. Played football much more recently than you and been involved in it basically my whole life. I don’t need anyone else telling me what I do and don’t know, but especially you. Mr “I played the game 50 years ago so I’m the only one with a football opinion that matters.”

Hauck is clearly your buddy, or at least he lets you think he is, so you’re not going to say a disparaging word about him, and good on you for being a supportive friend, but your judgement is clearly pretty biased. I’m sure you’ll say it’s not, but it’s pretty obvious to me and everyone here.

Have the day you deserve pal.
You post like you know nothing, and you certainly didn't play at the level I played at. You are not close to the Griz program, judging by your posts. Hauck has been my friend for 25 years, and the Hauck's have been close to my wife's family for many decades. As I've said before, I've counted 16 or 18 former coaches in my wife's and my family. I have never said or Indicated that only my opinion matters, but I can often spot people who don't know football or who are frauds. I am not biased in what I say about Hauck, when I support him. Your saying that shows me that you don't understand the Griz program. My day will be great. Exercise and time at the pool in AZ. High 70's. Went to the Cardinals game on Sunday with buddies. Their tickets were on the 50 yard line. Pretty much finished planning my January trip to Australia, Lombok/Bali, Singapore and Phuket/Bangkok Thailand. All good here.

😂 I'm not sure you could have posted a more on brand response. Blah blah I'm important, blah blah look how fancy I am, blah blah

This year's results combined with the current roster does not give much optimism for next year. That could change with transfers, but that can go either way. We've seen very impactful transfers in the past, but this year they were mostly duds. In the current FCS landscape, Montana should be in the semi-finals every year. 9-5 is unacceptable, especially considering the recent success happening down the road.
Which transfers were duds?

PWOs that cost $0 in aid to backfill the roster? It appears so. Pretty much the same as ever.
Sounds like the kids are making the right choice then.

This begs a different question though:

Do the Griz have a roster that needs spots opened up or one that needs backfilled?

Follow up, if winning is so easy, and UM is setup to consistently win championships, then why has it been 15 years of what is essentially 9 win seasons? I don't think the answer is as easy as you and many others make it out to be.
Since some think the Cat program is so good, why have they won a national championship for 40 years? Who will replace Mellott next year? Why didn’t many top players, all conf, go to the Portal last year?

It depends on scholarship costs. If they replace these "losses" with better walk-ons, it's a net positive. I think one of them wanted to play QB, which likely wasn't going to happen anytime soon at UM from the sound of it. If you are a college baseball recruit who really wants to play short, it probably wouldn't make sense to go somewhere with six shortstops on the roster. Go where you can play.

I didn’t think the Cats were destined to be a great or top team after their last season. So don’t include me in your everybody. UM is not on downward trajectory. Jeez, UM was just the no 2 in country last year. One season doesn’t make a trajectory. That’s just plain stupid. Don’t misrepresent what I say and think.
If one season doesn’t make a trajectory, then there’s no way to say UM is a consistent top team.

I didn’t say they were a consistent top team. That wasn’t the topic or discussion.

Would a team that’s been the 4th highest averaged ranked team in post-season polls for the past 5 years be a “consistent top team”, in your view? In my view, top 6 of that measurement would certainly be a top consistent team.

Huh? Trajectory is not one year in my parlance. Trajectory takes more years to measure. Are you saying the Cats’ “trajectory” was down after 2023 season? I wouldn’t have said that last year. I would have liked at several years or a bit more.

Only people who know nothing about Griz Football and BH would post this.

Players compete for their positions every season. All of them.
