App State won 3-straight titles.
North Dakota State won 3-straight titles.

Which fan base do you like more?

This should be an easy decision... :coffee:

Did AG vote with 3 different accounts? Cuz' at this point I only see 3 votes for NDSU. They remind a lot of the JMU folk a few years ago, and then when we beat them....well we didn';t beat them they beat themselves according to them. You can bet if that happens again, NDSU will say the same thing....or at least most of them.

The reason I come over to egriz for this game is that I enjoyed the friendly back and forth, leading up to the 2003 game with the Griz. In the aftermath, a majority, not all, Griz fans were very complimentary and wished the Bison fans the best for the coming season. A majority, not all, Bison fans wished the same for the Griz. Most Bison fans have a lot of respect for Montana and their great history in I-AA/FCS, and each game with the Griz is a measuring stick for the Bison. Unfortunately the loud mouth, a-holes are the ones people remember. Riding this National Championship run, NDSU has picked up a lot of band wagon jumping a-holes. Winning attracts all kinds of fans, as the Griz know. The first Bison playoff game had 12,000 fans in attendance, now it's very difficult to get a single game ticket. UIW tickets were going for $100 each. No matter the outcome, good luck to the Griz in the Big Sky.

the 12,000 playoff game was thanksgiving weekend and we had just lost 3-0 to Missouri state and everyone left thinking we wouldn't even make the playoffs. 4000 students that normally come became 500 that day FYI

True bison fans are content with a winning program, and we just hand the ball back to the ref.

Since we haven't played NDSU in ump-teen years, this poll is based off of what.... a few Bison fan eGriz posters?

Even if that is true that the number of students went from 4000 to 500 (loss of 3500), and the attendance was 12,000 (which I have my doubts about), then that still leaves another 3200 seats open for the general public. I was living in Montana at that time, but I happened to be back in Fargo during the game. I bought tickets a couple days before the game and got 3 tickets together about 5 rows up on about the 35 yard line. It's not like it was just students missing from that game. There are a ton of fans that have jumped on the bandwagon, and unfortunately, those seem to be the most obnoxious ones.

No excuses! Average attendance in 2010 was 15,944. There were not normally 4000 students attending games in 2010, I was there. Did they even have 4000 student tickets available that year? It took winning championships to get the student section filled up. It's great to have big crowds, but lets wait for some down years, 6-5 or 7-4, to see if this attendance keeps up, vs only up during winning seasons.

Wow. I find it somewhat troubling to even have this thread, which attempts to rank the fan bases of opposing schools. I am sure you must realize that the 4-5 posters who come to egriz to post from any school are zealots. To think that these few fans represent the thousands of fans from any of these schools is much like saying that Ray Rice and Jonathan Dwyer shows that NFL players are wife-abusers.

It's a number game. 20-40% (a scientific figure that I just made up) of ALL sports fans are massive douches. 40% of 200,000 (NDSU) is obviously significantly bigger than 40% of 9 (UNC). And with success, comes those same douches being louder, and douchier

What the App State fans lack in literacy and gene pool depth, NDSU fans make up for in girth and pastiness.
