Poll: Where will Lady Griz be seeded?

Charlie Creme still has Lady Griz at 11, but playing Purdue in Albuquerque. Lady Griz played Purdue back in 1995 in the second round of the NCAA tournament. Came within 10 points from making the sweet 16.

collegerpi.com has Lady Griz seeded 12th playing Iowa State in Seattle. I like this because it makes it easier for me to go watch the game live.

Seattle would be awesome. I think the Lady Griz would match up well with them, plus the fans would be there in droves.

I do not see anything higher than a 14th seed. I've been disappointed too many times.....

By playing a potential #1 seed tough (Maryland) and almost defeating a top 20 team in SDSU will get the LG at least an 11 seed, maybe 10.

But where are the quality wins? Will the commitee really consider 2 portland state wins quality wins? Then factor in playing in one of the least respected and worst conferences in college basketball. I dont think there is any chance of even an 11 seed without a single quality win. I would say 13 seed would be the best case scenario probably a 14 seed realistically though.

No bad losses is a plus i just dont see us being seeded that high due to a pretty soft OOC schedule and as usual a horrible conference outside of psu. I think in the future we need to try to schedule a lot more ranked big conference schools to toughen us up for the tourney think gonzaga mens schedule. Go play anybody anywhere to offset the conference. Does playing hampton, portland, nevada, msu-northern, or idaho really help us? Do we really feel our schedule has us ready to play and compete in the tourney?

Yesterday, to my great shame, I watch Dick Vitale debate the mid major disappointment of not getting good seeds against the Big guys! The point Vitale was trying to make but didn't enunciate, was that the big guys don't want to play on an equal field against the Montana's or PSUs of the world. Bilas, the guy he was arguing with said it was the mid majors' fault for not scheduling...Well, the Lady Griz seem to try to get the best, but how do you get a Duke, or Auburn, or any other eastern/southern team to Missoula in mid winter? And, Vitale should have spoken of the money involved. How does a Griz team, men or women, representing a university with limited funds, make travel costs, and other expenses of the type a Stanford, or UCLA or any of the power schools, with big bucks and home and home arrangements, compete? The only real solution is to allow every one who wants to participate in the tournament pull an opponents name out of a hat, and have one giant night of bball...sure, the big programs would win big, mercy rules could apply, but fields would be neutral and the creme would rise......until the programs are funded equally and schedules are equalized, we will have the disputes we have now....the same goes for mens' programs as well...including Griz football......everyone wants better competition, but how? Shall we drop the School of Fine Arts so we can play App State every year?

GrizLA, you hit the nail right on the head. The "big boys" don't want to play schools like UM -- it hurts their strength of schedule, and, in the first place, they want to keep all the money for themselves. Bilas is an ass (sorry!), and folks like him wish the "little guys" who just go away and leave the power conference schools alone. It's the whole BCS concept overlaying all of Div. 1 basketball. I hate the BCS and the mentality it brings into college sports as a whole.

No bad losses really depends on where PSU finishes up in RPI. One has PSU ranked 102 which is a somewhat bad loss. one has PSU ranked around 97 which isn't a bad loss. So, it really matters what RPI ranking PSU has in the NCAA rpi rankings. That hasn't been listed on http://www.ncaasports.com yet.

So far, both bracketologists had Maryland as 1 seed in Raleigh Division.

But, both had SDSU as a 5 seed and they were so far off. SDSU is a 7th seed.
