Last week’s guesses were pretty good, but (again) the misses were worse than they oughta be. Twenty out of 25 were on the nose or very close. I also correctly guessed three of the teams that would drop out of the poll. That’s the good news. My bad: I missed on my guesses that Jacksonville State and New Hampshire would also drop out of the poll. And, while I correctly guessed that Samford, Youngstown State, and JMU would move into the top 25, I was close on where only for Samford (I guessed #22 and they came in at #23).
Only three ranked teams lost this weekend, but two of those were to unranked opponents. Since Towson lost to a ranked team, I’m guessing they stay in the top-10 … dropping “the usual” five spots or so. I think Northern Iowa’s loss, at home, to unranked Southern Illinois will cost them a couple more slots. (It would not surprise me if they dropped one or two more than that.) Jacksonville State’s decisive loss, at home, will surely drop them out of the top-25, and I’m guessing that the team that beat them, Tennessee State, will move in.
