I'll be there!!!

What's the Griz meeting spot Friday night??
Portland! Gotta find Mr. T and Pols. Don't leave anyone behind!

Warrior's Ethos

P.S. Unless one of them soiled the 'bresty' Freddy Krueger bartender at the Marathon Bar. If that happened, I hate them!

Was in the Marathon myself with a few other Griz buds and drained a few cold ones and some potent drink I couldn't identify, :D
Were alive just barely. Some hot chick came by and provided some much needed mouth to mouth. Mr T got his customary cross dresser cupping... :thumb:

Okay, I think the quick synopsis is this: we were all too effed up in Portland to recall much.

Now, moving on: Where's the ISU drinking taking place?? Friday night party? Saturday tailgate? Saturday postgame?

Help a thirsty brother out.

Edit: And by the term "brother", I am not suggesting any affiliation to the LDS religion. 8-)

That's a good question. I was wondering the same.

I hear there's a 2nd story room under construction where most are gathering, ladder is already up! Too soon? <hides>

I figure we lose 2 of the last 3 so the only game I am traveling to is the Cat ass kicking in Bozeman, gonna take those kittens out behind the woodshed again

The GSA usually sets up in a grassy area in the NW end of the parking lot at Holt. Be advised, they are always waaayyyyy short on porta johns so be prepared to find a bush or an open car door to piss behind if you are pounding beers like I usually am!! :D

And the comments about the Mormons is spot on. They look at us like we are insects when we are walking by them beers in hand on the way into the shithole known as Holt Arena!!

Dammit EG. It's snowing like hell here again. I think I'm going to stay home and go hunting. You guys be loud. I'll be trying to dial in Mick from a mountain top somewhere.

There is a park area NE of Holt. E and NE is where I have seen Griz congregate. W of Holt is Bengal Tailgating, what there is of it. Holt Arena runs E-W. A call to GSA on which corner of the parking lot they are set up on would save someone lots of needless walking.

This is true. The last time the Griz played ISU, much of ISU's tailgating was around that same spot as well. If you arrive early, which I have no doubt Grizzly tailgaters are capable of doing, it'll be quite easy. The pain however is that the Grizzly seating in Holt is on the exact opposite side of the stadium and there is no ability to cross within the stadium on that end. They won't let you enter the stadium traditionally away from were your seating is. So plan accordingly.

In stadium concessions are okay. The ice cream isn't a bad thing to get, but get there early. Oh and shin guards are suggested for the seats.

 Never thought about it before, but that IS a good idea. Those '70s plastic bucket seats do dig into ones shins.
I called GSA to confirm site location, message only. Must be enroute.

Read it again and see if you can discover that it was the tongue-in-cheek comment that the LDS patrons would not have to observe the beer drinkers (Griz fans - get it) that (in the opinion of the LDS patrons) will certainly go to hell. Hope that clarifies it. You have to be there to see some of the disdainful looks you get when the locals pass a tailgate in which everyone has a beer in their hand. At any rate one valid you have is that I spent little time trying to be fair.
Very delusional, and if fact a smug judgmental feel to many. I have a great many LDS friends and I rarely get the vibe from them, but at the same point you get the feeling from others that if you aren't apart of the culture you an outsider no matter how long you live there.

There are a couple of former Montanans that I knew from other circles here, and I would end up seeing them at the GSA tailgate in Poky, and it was always surprising that other people engage in the consumption of adult beverages here.

Still think the WSU tailgate is weirder, Poky just seems a bit freer...Maybe that is a self created feeling. Who knows.

Anyway, gonna be there with bells on and a few growlers in my possession. Great thing about being in Twin Falls these days there are five or six growler stations of which I can get access to my favorite micro-brews.
The confession to prefer yuppie beers helps explain accusations like "delusional" and "smug judgmental." I've been going to the Griz games in Pokey for many years with relatives and local business owners who first pointed out these reactions to me, which are confirmed every visit. My first wife is a Pocatello native, so I know quite a bit about the local "culture." You've not been so observant or informed.

First that wasn't my intent because I actually like Poky in general, but rather have had the experience in places other than Poky of being an outsider. Frankly it took a lot to adjust to considering how insular many of the southern Idaho communities and how much I had to work to make in roads into those communities.

Just experienced it first hand and that is why I made the observation, because as a whole I enjoy working here and I also fully recognize that not of all Southern Idaho is wound as tightly as where I am at.

Good god Pokey sucks. Is it too much to ask that a town have a half way decent place to eat, or at least a sports bar?

Locals, seriously, where do you go in this town!?
