Please show up Saturday Griz players and coaches.....

As a former Griz player and current Fargo resident, I've caught a lot of crap in the last year from both und and ndsu fans for how we performed last year (playing and coaching) in grand forks. I talked to a few of the Griz players/coaches after the game last year and the pain, frustration, embarrassment was evident.....and the pride i had/have in the program actually went to a deeper level (even after both me and my bro played for Griz nation). I know it might not makes sense, but it just happened. I am more fired up for this Saturdays game than you have any idea.

Big Fact for this years game: This years und team has 3 legit receivers that are the only players that would play for ndsu (in fact I think the Jackson kid is the last kid the bison have lost to und in recruiting in recent years). Probably best trio we see all year. Und has an inexperienced freshman qb and average at best oline with those special receivers. We all know that in the app game we gave up some yards the end of the first half and third quarter that if we scheme, cover, and tackle like that for any extended period of time we will lose against these receivers. They just worked a top 10 team in sdsu for almost 500 yards. Please "bring it" Saturday Griz players and coaches. Just block/tackle fundamentally and make common sense coaching adjustments, as we have the talent and the rest will play itself out. Don't care what offense or defense or special teams we run like some of you get so worked up about, just want to get back to winning again and that mindset that we will find a way to get it done.

If we play consistently to our talent level this year with winning the turnover battle, it will be interesting to see how this year plays out. I really wish we played ndsu early this year as we would match up with our front seven defensively and our oline. Bison secondary is pretty special. We would probably lose 28-13 now but would give us a measuring stick to possibly give them a better game in the playoffs. They have a special senior class this year similar to the Griz 96 class.

Also, I've enjoyed this site over recent years and gotten to know some of you through some unique situations. I love when there is a good football thread and not someone talking about the cats and B.S. Who F'N cares until FTC week. *Bison fans hate them after backing out this year last minute like you have no idea...let them chat and we need to get back to our traditions as a team as that will play itself out.

Lastly I hope to see may of you tailgating this Saturday or at the usd game in nov. The bison fans have a passion like the Griz nation as I hope to see many if you in Fargo and grand forks next year as well. This griz-bison rivalry could be special like app was. As AC/DC says, you can "Have a Drink on Me" when we tailgate together if our paths cross at any of these events

You obviously never played the game. Just kidding, good to see former GRIZ players posting here. Would love to see you post more, especially when it comes to seeing what the GRIZ could do, or did during a game that could help them. What do you think of the GRIZ changing back to of a more pro set? I for one love it. I feel it fits our personnel much better. :thumb: :thumb:

Big Sexy:

You mentioned winning the turnover battle in this game. IMO that will be a huge factor for a Griz win.

Tell your dad the folks in Colville, WA said hello and we're still making the drive!!!

Hope you keep posting. Would be great to have another poster who wants to talk Griz football, instead of obsessing over the Cats.

I think our front 7 on D and front 6 on O will be the difference in this game. They have the ability to rack up the yards with their passing game, but I think our secondary is much improved as is our pass rush. I like our chances.

I'm with you on this HighLine. In a few weeks they'll be a very well rounded team. Gotta a few kinks to iron out and things look to be running very nice.

Nice post, Kim and I will be there, Taylor has to work, love the Montana teams but this week I am a Sioux. I am sitting in the Griz section for Kim. Don't throw tomatoes.

See you at the tailgating party in the rain.

After watching both UND games this year it is clear that they are going to be able to move the ball. During the Valpo game UND did whatever they wanted in the passing game. Long short it didn't matter they were hitting on everything. But SDSU was a lot better defense. The majority of the passes were quick throws to negate the pass rush. That put a lot of pressure on SDSU's D-backs to make tackles. With the talent they have at WR one missed tackle is a big gain. During the Griz Appy game our D-backs did a pretty good job of making tackles right after the catch and keeping the plays in front of them. If they keep that up we should be in good shape and our front 7 should be able to take away the deep ball with pressure.

You know where I will be this weekend BSG............come drink with us................it wont be like last time at BWW before the Kid Rock concert.................I hope

Going to be some great tailgating, warmer than last year with maybe a touch of rain. Time for some fun. I will be easy to find. The guy with the Sioux hat walking with the lady decked out in Griz apparell.

Good luck to all and safe travels to those coming this way.

UND's RFr. QB Joe Mollberg, who will likely get the start this Saturday after his big 2nd half last weekend, was heavily recruited by NDSU in 2011; to the point where NDSU's head coach Craig Bohl was even calling him after he committed to UND. Of course, he wouldn't be starting for NDSU this season due to Brock Jenson. Mollberg also had serious interest from Minnesota and Iowa but an offer never came because he got injured during his senior year of high school. He has the potential to be a very good QB down the road for UND, and possibly even in the present.

A couple of our offensive linemen also received offers from NDSU.
