It seems that historically teams that finish strong are given the nod over teams that finish weak. EWU in ‘17 is a perfect example of that.
Cats and Griz are the only teams in the running for a fourth BSC playoff spot, IMO. They would both finish on three game win streaks to get to 7-4. ISU is likely to finish with a loss to Weber to end up 7-4. Don’t see them making the cut.
The BSC would need some help to get a fourth playoff spot, I believe a 7-4 Griz team is at least in the playoff discussion.
Go Griz!
Idaho state could very well finish 8-3. They’ll beat poly and they get Weber at home. The griz absolutely need Weber to win that one...
As for your EWU reference to last year...Eastern finished winning their last 2 and played a much much tougher non conference schedule and were still left out at 7-4.
NAU and Poly losing to San Diego in the playoffs kills the big sky for bubble teams at 7-4. So does the home loss to PSU.
Unfortunately, I see the committee taking a 6-5 Missouri Valley team over a 7-4 big sky team all day long. Not that I agree....

IFAIK, Haslam can't have any input on his university's football team, just like none of the other ADs can have input on their own school's chances.Yukon said:hm.grwn.grizfan said:Just beat the spuds and kittens! We’ve got two weeks of rivalry games ahead of us folks! The rest is out of our control.
You bring up a good point. Let's say Griz win both games. Haslam could bring up the point that the Griz ended the season on a high note, knocking off both rivals.

Either EWU or UCD is assured of having another loss. If EWU's third loss, unlikely they are seeded.mtgrizfankb said:While I agree that I don't think the BSC really does get 4 in usually. Assuming no melt downs the BSC could have 3 seeded teams. If that were to happen it would greatly increase my thoughts the BSC would get 4 teams. It would be tough to say a conf that has 3 top 8 teams...don't have another team 8-24. I know that think is somewhat skewed train of thought...HOWEVER that has always been rational used why committee members choose teams. "It was a very competitive and good conference this year" Despite the fact MSU and UM have been mid par....the big sky has 3 teams in the top 6...that is impressive. That will most likely hold water when Kent is bargaining to get another BSC team in. Honestly I think MSU has a better shot at 7-4 than we do. Their losses are much more superior to ours EWU= UCD, WSU > WIU, SDSU >>>>>> PSU, ISU > ND. However IF and this is HUGE IF......we go to Idaho and beat down Idaho by 17+ then beat MSU by 17+...we MIGHT be able to be the 4th best team in the big sky. ISU will end either 7-4 or 6-5. I could see them losing to CP more than I could see them beating Weber
