Playoff game in Missoula

When the Lady Griz win the Big Sky Tourney is there a possibility that they will also host a first round game in Missoula like they did a couple years ago when they hosted Louisiana Tech?
 
no. the sites are picked well in advance. montana may well host again, as we did the year we played la tech, because the ncaa was extremely happy with the attendance and way our administration ran it. i don't know when that would be.

I asked a UM official on the chances of UM hosting another sub-regional, and there was a small chance of that happening. NCAA is looking for larger venues. If that is true, another reason for the remodel being bad. The remodel cost UM of ever hosting another west regional like UM did in 1993 and 1997.

Can't believe they're looking for larger venues for a women's regional game... seems like they'd have a tough time filling anything much bigger than Dahlberg

Well, Stanford is hosting and they have the same size of venue. But, Stanford is also easier for teams to travel to, and have also alot of support for women's basketball. So, Not sure if this official is all that correct.

But, UM always hosts the home and garden show the week after the big sky tournament every year. That will interfere with any scheduling of subregional. That home and garden show could very well interfere with hosting a wnit game if Lady Griz happen to lose this week and get selected into the wnit.
