Players on the rise

Longwood was on the field last week as was favors but no carries yet for either. I saw favors in some specialt team roles. I don't recall seeing logwood but he must've made an appearance

Logwood has a ankle issue and it is mending slower than first thought. I expect to see him in Liberty. Will be a dandy when he gets heathy. Nate Bradley played a solid game along side Davis...Both damn good for young studs.

Kyle Davis! Heard the announcers say he was a walk-on? He was in the mix quite a bit when he played against Cal Poly.

As for Roberts, why isn't he starting at WR? Are you telling that he is not one of our best 5 receivers? If so, I ain't buyin;. This guy has the best hands on the team, and may be the best overall athlete on the team. He should be starting for sure.

Look I'm not meaning to knock Roberts bc he's obviously a tremendous talent but you're wrong here.

Best hands? Jamaal Jones
Best overall athlete? Jones or Henderson...
Best jumper? Probably Roberts based on what we've seen

Being a "starter" in this offense only matters for Jones and Henderson our Z and X wide receivers, the rest rotate so much it's almost a meaningless title. Roberts is probably the 3rd best guy on the team overall, I'd say. But he shouldn't be starting over Jones or Hendu. Maybe starting on the inside... that could work...

Wrong once again again, Wally. Roberts is one of the best all-around athletes to come out of Montana in many years. So, Jones or Henderson are better athletes? Please! Were they drafted out of high school by Major League Baseball? Were they All-State basketball players in high school? Were they good enough to get a college scholarship in baseball, football, and basketball? I think we know the answer.

And, by the way, Roberts does have the best hands of any of the receivers. I was told so by a current Griz assistant coach. I predict he will be starting soon, as soon as he learns better route-running in this offense.

I am going to put my "personal" pride aside for a moment. The best athlete on this team IS actually Tyrone Holmes. That guys a freak...football basketball & hurdles in track. With that size. Please!?!?!

Henderson won state championship in Track senior yer (only year he ran). Its pretty well documented that Henderson was on his way to the diamond before shoulder injury shortened his last two HS seasons. He was set to play football & potentially start in CF for the 'bows. UH was open to both sport as was Oregon State, WSU & Miami but came to UM (football only & glad he's here) All State two different position in Football. I remember seeing him rated as a top ten CB on the west coast as a senior. Did you see him almost fold the Poly kid in half on that tackle after the pick?.

Roberts is also special no doubt but if I am picking the best athletes Holmes, Henderson & Roberts are probably my 1-2-3. Since Roberts did make a run at a baseball career but came back to football. I would give the nod to Henderson over Ben. Baseball is in Hendu's blood, father played, Hall of Fame cousin & several other MLB level family members. I think he could go play both baseball & football professionally.

No what, we don't have a great receiving corp? Who's better top to bottom?

I'll wait.

Just in the Big Sky EWU based on what I've seen from both teams so far. Yes Kupp overshadowed the rest on Saturday, but their other receivers are damn good too unfortunately. Despite what Alpha and others have said, Kupp is better than EH and JJ, and they are both damn good IMO.

Agreed

I don't agree. Kupp has been in better offenses with better QB's. Put EH or JJ on the Eagles over the past couple years I think they put up numbers as good as Kupp.

I love our guys, but Kupp's numbers speak for themselves. He's a really smart receiver and never it seems does he drop one. I would go out on a limb and say he may be the best receiver ever in the Big Sky.

Yes he is great, but the system he plays in gives him an advantage in stats. Henderson and Jones would put up bigger numbers in that system too. Kupp would have lesser numbers if he played in Delaney's system. Fortunately for Jones, Henderson, and GRIZ WR's, they finally are in a WR friendly offensive system. I do feel Stitt's system will spread the wealth around more than EWU's. I do hope Stitt schemes more ways to get the ball to EH and JJ. :thumb:
