Pick the record- if the Griz were in the WAC

NDSU was D-II just a minute ago. They might want to win a FCS championship, make the playoffs, or have at more than 1 good season at this level first. They have a decent basketball team, but I'm pretty sure hockey isn't a varsity sport in the WAC.

The Griz are fast becoming the joke of the division. How many Big Sky championships in a row, playoff appearances in a row, and 10 win seasons do you need to step up to the competition? Not the Griz. They are content to play the same sh!tty schedule every year (unless there's a million dollar deficit, then they'll play for the money).

Some fans are just content to watch crappy teams come into Wash/Griz and have the Griz make a joke of a playoff run where, let's face it, my f*cking grandma could coach the Griz to.

The worst team in the WAC is Idaho. If Idaho is in the Big Sky, they are easily in the top 3.

Play in the WAC even it means 4-8. At least you challenge yourself and have some balls, unlike some of you. If you want to win every game I'm sure the Frontier conference would take the Griz. Imagine all the cute banners you could put up then.

:lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

That's more a statement of how shitty the bottom 7 are than how great Idaho is. Hell, SUU might be in the top 3 (or 4). So would UC Davis. Cal Poly would be top 3.

1st post!

NDSU and Montana should both be in the WAC.

that would make for good travel partners, dont you agree?

granted, ndsu had a sub-par season last year (even if they had 8 players sign or get invites to NFL).
Good travel partners are less than 950 miles apart.

Idaho would give UM more competition than anyone else has in recent years; only CPSLO of the others would have a shot at top 3 or 4. SUU would be well paired with UNC at the bottom with UC Davis somewhere in the middle "also-ran" group.

Alot of dilusional thinking.

This is more realistic

Boise State - L
Fresno State - L
Nevada - L
Louisana Tech - L
Hawaii - W or L
San Jose State - W or L
Utah State - W or L
Idaho - W
New Mexico State - W

I don't get why everyone is so high on UC Davis. They haven't done anything since joining the FCS ranks, had a losing record last year and got embarassed by SAC STATE at home last year. Man we get no love...

3-6 would be considered a success.

We have found a topic on which we can agreee. It is done only by those that try to build up all of our OOC opponents to try to make believe we play a challenging schedule. But UC Davis is better than SUU.

Since the board is a little slow this time of year, I thought this might be interesting. If the Griz were in the WAC and playing a WAC schedule plus the Bobcats, pick the record. Since we already know that they will steamroll the Big Sky again, with one league loss max.

Here is the schedule: and my predictions

Hawaii - win
@San Jose State- probable win
Fresno State- win
@Idaho - Easy win
Boise State- Loss
@Louisiana Tech - probable win
Utah State- probable win
@New Mexico State- win
@Nevada- possible win
Montana State- win

I think with this ten game schedule the Griz could likely finish right about 8-2. Not too bad.

Hawaii - Loss
SJSU - Loss (maybe a win)
Fresno - Loss
Idaho - Win
BSU - Loss
LA Tech - Loss
USU - Toss Up
NMSU - Win
Nevada -- Loss
MSU -- win

4-6 conference with a OOC win or two tossed in a possible 6-6 overall.

Look on the bright side...that would probably get you in the MeinekeCarquestHooters Mediocrity Bowl....

I can't believe someone in this thread thinks we'd beat Fresno St. That'd be like trying to beat Boise St.

It is possible that we could beat most of the teams in the WAC. Are you saying that we shouldn't play teams unless we are certain we can beat them? Sounds as if you really have bought into the Dennison mandate of scheduling.

Quit twisting my words, it's getting old and stupid with your rehashing the same argument over and over again. I don't believe I can ever be quoted as not wanting to schedule WAC teams that we can only beat, you're reading more into what I said than what's actually there, that being someone actually thinks Montana could beat Fresno right now, which is absolutely not true. I'm actually pretty pissed off about the Western State scheduling and still having to pay out the ass for season tickets, but to say ridiculous things like we'd go 6-6 in the WAC right away isn't very smart. The WAC has decent upside as far as teams go, I wouldn't guarantee a win over any of them, even Idaho. Boise St. didn't even start off fantastic when it first made the jump to the Big West. Your argument that we could "beat most of the teams in the WAC" is merely speculation at best.

Nobody knows what the WL would be, but I believe we would be in most every game. And that is what is most exciting. Looking at a small college schedule and knowing that unless there is a letdown, you will be undefeated, is what's getting old.

By the way, while it is common here to rag on Idaho's move up, in their third year after leaving the BSC, Idaho won the Big West.

Mr. Titleist..please read my post again and you will see that you are twisting my words. I said that it is possible that we could beat most of the teams in The WAC. I believe that to be true as Bobby Hauck coached teams, on a given day, are capable of beating many teams, including Fresno. But we will never know, will we, as long as Dennison is allowed to schedule schools that he knows will be another win in advance.

Idaho also beat Boise pretty badly that year as I remember, right?
1998 Idaho 36, BSU 35 @ Boise

Idaho is 17-20-1 vs. BSU.

:lol: :lol: :lol:

And Idaho is 0-10 since that "pretty bad" beatdown of BSU in 1998, with a combined score of 498-174. :lol: :lol: :lol:

Idaho has given up (since the win in '98) 45, 66 (gave up 45 in a loss to the Griz), 45 (gave up 33 in a loss to the Griz), 38 (gave up 38 in loss to the Griz), 24 (gave up 41 in loss to the Griz), 65, 70, 42, 58, 45. :lol: :lol: :lol:

So, the Vandals are 0-10 against BSU and 0-4 against the Griz since 1999. :lol: :lol: :lol:
