Bison, doesn't UND have a winning record against NDSU? Nickel Trophy 35-30 UND. Plus their top players over the years are : Weston Dressler (CFL great and current Grey Cup Champion, from Bismark) and Jim LeClair (former Bengals all-pro linebacker who once wrestled a bear). Your notable players are Tyrone Braxton and Phil Hanson (known for losing 8 Superbowls between them and wrestling no large omnivores) and Jeff Bentrim, who came to play in Canada and 30 years later we are still not sure what he thought he was here for. Besides the fact that their stadium is attached to a hotel with a kick ass water slide and yours looks like something that requires the sprayer and seeder to be folded up before you put it back in the quonset.

I want Pflu to get another HC job, just not in the Bigsky. Give him 3 to 4 years and his team will be contender along with the GRIZ, EWU, and MSU.

Also at Montana, Pluf had the advantage of recruiting players to play at MONTANA. He could say to a kid, hey come play at one of the premier programs in the FCS. At UND, he is telling a kid to come play at a program that is an after thought in their own state, and one of the worst teams in the FCS.

The truth is though, that the job at North Dakota is probably the most attractive Head Coaching vacancy in all of FCS right now. We have funding, excellent facilities, membership in the best FCS conference, fan support, and tradition. It is not like we are Idaho St. You don't get over 600 wins as a program without being committed to it. We've had a couple bad years. This year was really bad. That is why a change has been made.

Off topic a bit, but I heard that one of UND's best WR's is transferring to St. Cloud St a DII school. Jameer Jackson was up for the Jerry Rice award last year and would be a huge loss to the UNDies in my opinion. As far as coaches go....if I was UND I would find someone with good recruiting ties in MN, WI and not only ties, but someone that can actually recruit.....Muss was terrible at it, which is why us Bison fans loved him soooo much! :lol: Most of NDSU"s players come from MN with around 35 and ND is next with around 20 and WI third in the mid to high teens I believe and it has been basically that way even way back in the DII days. As far as NFL goes Phil Hansen is in the Bills ring of honor, as is Steve Nelson in the Patriots ring of honor and we have something like 5-6 actively in the league right now I believe, so were doing ok. :thumb:

Don't get WSU confused with BYU. Here in Ogden we don't give a damn what religion someone is as long as you can coach. :thumb:
