Stop with the personal attacks, you are close to libel when comparing me to a racist, woman hating bigot. I want the best for the Griz and Coach Hauck is it he is the best choice out of the names in the list. If I recall alpha didn't even like Hauck and complained all the time about him winning. You owe me an apology anything less is pure poppycock plain and simple. Please stop with the attacks.

Sounds like something Alpha would say...

Or Seattle Griz Fan. There's a blast from the past. :) That is how I think of Mr. Growler.

I thought I would just put an end to this thread with my special powers. :thumb:

Hahahaha!! Nice work, MM!

I believe RE will have no part of BH back on staff. He's a fine coach and had too many things beyond his control working against him at UNLV. OTOH, there were too many off-field incidents during his tenure that, if he were still on staff, he'd have been fired instead of Pflugrad.

RE felt (with some justification) that the Griz football program had to be reformed, and things couldn't go on as they had been. It was a Draconian thing to do, but RE did it, hurting the program in the short term, but under Delaney and perhaps under Stitt, the program will once again be a BSC and FCS power in the long term.

Good post.

I think BH has a great deal more to offer the college world of football. He will be offered another good position and his career has years to evolve. His fire and focus are talents every AD covets in their football coach. BH will always be part of the Griz family and Montanans will be proud to say he is "one of ours."

Is UNLV still your 2nd favorite college team?

This deserves an answer. Yes. They've hired a local HS coach, Tony Sanchez of Bishop Gorman HS, which is the #1 USA Today football team in the country. BG has won the NV state HS football championship the past 6 years.

Much speculation re: this & as one sports media said, "It will be interesting." The fan board is pretty excited, as is UNLV & the Regents, which unanimously confirmed him. Impressive is, a couple of U of Nebraska assistants have been hired.

I still don't think Bobby was given a fair shake by UNLV; he really had no financial backing for upgrading the stadium, locker & weight rooms, covered practice facility, etc. I believe he couldn't land the recruits he wanted, due to past record of UNLV & obvious lack of support for Rebel football from the school.

Now, Sanchez appears to get everything Bobby didn't have. Plus, he's expected to recruit talented HS football players & keep them home, due to his long association with the community, an advantage Bobby never had. The Las Vegas community is really a homer community.

A mystery to me: Why did Bobby lose to two BSC schools, Northern AZ & SUU, when he beat them consistently at MT? Why did he beat UNC by only one point this past season? You can't tell me it's the coaching.

I was a big supporter of Bobby on the Rebel fan board & the online editions of the Sun & RJ. I drew a lot of crap doing so. I wanted to see a MT boy succeed. But, I'd have been greatly surprised if he'd been hired to replace Delaney for the reasons I've already stated.

And, besides, I may be moving to Henderson, NV, this summer. Henderson is the 2nd largest city in NV, bordering Vegas to the SE. I shopped for apts. twice this year & will go a 3rd time next month. Also, I got invested in Rebel football & it's hard to stop being interested, esp. if I move.
