So do we if Jensen plays.

Which has what to do with talking about the Griz defensive performance?

Well..they were on their 2nd string...we were on our 4th string.....I'll take our D performance against theirs... :thumb:

Sure, but I was never comparing their performance against ours.

TBH I didn't go back and read the whole thread.... :)

Defense did what they needed to, but I still think NAU puts up 35 if Cookus doesn't get bounced.

Are you really that slow? Sorry that was for HHB

Are you really that dense? I not once reference what the Griz may or may not have done with Jensen. I never brought up the Griz offense, or chance of winning, or chance of losing. What I did state was the Griz defense benefited from Cookus getting bounced, and IMO, they score quite a bit more if he doesn't. You and the rest of the herd brought up everything else.

...if hung with a new rope.

Bitch about the special teams....special teams scores a TD.

Bitch about the D. D gives up 15 and basically wills the Griz to a win.

Keep bitching motherfuckers....there's a 3-year extension on the horizon, along with an 8-3 record and playoff berth.
Nope, Stitt is gone. If you really believed the stuff you post you would have took me up on the bet.

If he goes 8-3 he's only gone if HE wants to be gone....

What if we had Roper and they had Russell Wilson in this one? I bet the outcome would've been way different. We should talk about that equally relevant thing.

Nobody? Fine. Well, I don't think our defense would've done as well against Russell Wilson, so I'm not sure I'm sold on them just yet.

And we could put up 45 if Gresch was playing.

See how easy this is?

NAU should be 100% favored with their 2nd string QB over our 4th string QB.

This was a great, gutsy win.

What Gresch would do has nothing to do with the Griz defense. So are you saying the Griz D holds NAU to 15 with Cookus?
No, but it doesn’t matter because he’s an idiot and got himself ejected.

Even with that, NAU should have won this game. Any team should be favored over us and our fourth-string QB, who hasn’t played in over two years.

Would really like to see where I stated anything about any of this. What I did say is IMO the Griz defense doesn't look that good if Cookus plays the entire game and doesn't get held to 15.

But...He was ejected. As we're Alexander and Schye last week. You can if and but as ll day long, but this team has done things that we were unable to do lady year. Win on the road, and find a way to win when things go against you. OMG, we beat the number one team in the conference with a back up/ part time starting H back playing at quarterback. Just STAND appreciate what happened today. This was old school Washington Grizzly magic. Embrace it brother!!!!

Yep, and the defense looked pretty good against the freshman backup.

But...What your offense does is absolutely dependant on what the defense does and vice versa. Our griz found a way to win without a starting quarterback a week after we were embarrassed on th e road. You seem to want to hate it instead of wanting to appreciate it. That makes me sad for you ...

Think that I am embracing it for what it was, a gritty win. Just not sure I embrace the defense like it seems others are.

Seems I never once said anything about not appreciating what was accomplished. I am just not as gooey about the defense as others after beating up on a freshman backup.

I don’t know, the last 6 quarters they’ve played they have looked pretty good

I know Cookus would have changed their offense and what they tried to do but the other 10 guys on the field are their players too and our defense beat them. Same o-line Cookus would have had and our pass rush was in the backfield quite a bit and very well may have made things difficult for Cookus as well.

Agreed: I'd like to see how the Red Sox would have done if they hadn't traded Ruth and how Tiger would be if he'd shut his phone off, but those things didn't happen. Try reality, it's not as nice as your world but in it the Griz are 6-3 and beat #9 in the country.

What if Custer would have had a tank battalion and air support on the Little Big Horn?

Sweet lord jesus! I always thought you were a pretty decent poster but I'm somewhat dismayed by your line of reasoning at this time. Can't you just acknowledge that the defense did enough to win and that facticity played a role for both teams! Can't you just drop the pseudo intellectualism?

Seems I did...multiple times. Thanks for playing.

I don't get why people are taking HHB to task on this. The premise that the UM defense was helped, (to what degree is unknowable), by the loss of their #1 potential All-American QB, is reasonable.

It's not as if he's saying the D sucked all game, just that the outcome could well have been very different, so less was proven than would have otherwise been. That's reasonable. He said it was a gutsy win.

Enjoy it. Sheesh
