At UFC 80, B.J. Penn won the vacant lightweight title in impressive fashion to become just the second UFC fighter to win belts in two different weight classes. Penn beat the cr@p out of Joe Stevenson following a vicious late-first-round elbow shot until Stevenson tapped at 4:02 of the second round to a rear naked choke. Penn then proceeded to call out Sean Sherk, who was previously stripped of the belt after he popped on 'roids.

Earlier on the undercard, jiu-jitsu "expert" James Lee attempted an ankle takedown on Alession Sakara, but got three shots to the head for his trouble. At that point, Lee essentially quit. The ref stopped the bout early in the first round. Lee claimed that his back hurt.
