What ? Why? He was right there on the final play, chasing the ball and celebrating in the endzone.

What's his status? Anyone know? It's like he's gone radio silent...

Supposedly he's been playing hurt? As shown above however, he's been on the field; maybe not as effectively as before?

Oh, I don't know. This guy was going to be a major part of the D-line rotation and he's got a grand total of THREE tackles this year. Last year he had 30 tackles, 3 sacks, a blocked kick. Stats say he's played in 7 games so far....

He hasn't been healthy all year. Still fighting an ankle injury now.

Peevey got injured in fall camp and he's never really recovered. I believe it was the Cal Poly game where he got rolled up on too. If the Griz had any depth at DT at all, he probably would have sat out until he was fully healed. But, he won't do it because there are few other guys to even play that position. Yeah, he doesn't have numbers this season, but he has done his job the best he can, and if he had missed three or four games like he probably should have, I would be afraid to imagine how much worse the Griz' run defense would have been. He's been a trooper this season for sure.

As someone who had the privilege of coaching Zach Peevey, he is a warrior, hard worker, and great teammate. I guarantee he is playing very injured and doing everything he can.

If he has a high ankle sprain I can testify that they take forever to heal and trying to do anything athletic until they do is very painful. It is one of those injuries that defy icing and massage and taping and even cortisone/pain shots. Rest until healed is about the only thing that helps. And then re-injury is highly likely. Years later my ankle still bothers me at times (like right now).
